JANESVILLE, Wisconsin — House Speaker Paul Ryan should coast to reelection here despite a scare from Republican businessman Paul Nehlen, a new poll shows.

The Remington Research Group survey conducted on Aug. 3 found that Ryan leads Nehlen 80 percent to 14 percent. A minimal six percent say they are undecided. The survey was of 1,157 likely primary voters and has a margin of error of three points.

The survey also found that 80 percent of respondents found Ryan favorable, with just 14 percent finding him unfavorable and six percent having no opinion. Nehlen, meanwhile, was viewed by 16 percent as favorable while 47 percent view him as unfavorable and 37 percent are unsure.

Polls steer people to a winner. I’ve given money to Nehlen and support his or anyone, even a Democrat in November, to beat Ryan. Nehlen didn’t come off as prepared in some materials I’ve seen, but 80-14?! Does that district really support Ryan that blindly?!

Cruz beat Trump by 19 points in that district.

We discussed this poll in length yesterday. Remington research is Jeff Roe. Poll was done in Milwaukee WI (sliver of Ryans district) and Madison WI (not Ryans district). Don’t think it is very trustworthy

Still interesting. If the result is reversed or even much closer than this poll indicates, it will give us a hint of how polls are used in this election.

Ryan is a dangerous, evil, lying son of a *itch. If he gets re-elected, it means those other two enemies of the country, Ayotte and McCain will also. He is paid for and bought and sold to borderless one world government globalists.

“Paul Ryan believes in trade while the other guy is a protectionist. Therefore, I choose Ryan.”

Are you serious?

Does there exist a human who does not believe in trade?

There are those of us who believe the United States should preserve its industrial base, and its wealth, and its jobs, which is something Ryan does not believe in.

Ryan is a tax and spend, obama-government, cheep labor, jihad enabling traitor, therefore you choose Ryan. That's the real reason you love him.

Just 2 years ago:

“On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, Cantor was so confident about his primary race that he spent most of the day in Washington. A poll taken two weeks earlier showed him leading his tea party challenger by 34 points. It wasn’t until he was driving home to Richmond that he realized something might be wrong. “I remember getting a call from my consultant saying, ‘It’s going to be a long night,’ and I was like, ‘What?’,” he recalls.

First elected to Congress in 2000, Cantor had always breezed to victory in Virginia’s 7th District, a conservative stronghold that runs from Richmond to the Shenandoah Valley. In 2012, he got 79 percent of the primary vote and won the general election by 17 points. Now he was facing an unknown economics professor named David Brat, who had the support of conservative radio hosts. But Cantor had outspent him, outpolled him, and had every reason to believe that he was headed for an eighth term.

As it turned out, it was not a long night. The returns came in early with the devastating news that Brat had won by 11 points, capturing 55 percent of the vote.”

Your numbers are WAY wrong.
first of all, there are NOT 700,000 registered voters in the district.

The GREAT news is that Trump won 32% of the votes in Ryan’s CD 1.

That’s a LOT of votes. 48,000...enough to pick off Ryan’s 55% and tank him below 50%

(Cruz took 51% of the vote in Ryan’s district....75,000 votes

Katich taking 15%....22,000 votes)

Ryan WILL be easy to pick off...if not today, then in November:

Here are the %’s that Ryan won by over the last several elections...not a good trend for him at all

2012 He won 55% of the vote....He CAN be easy to pick off in the general

2010 68%
2008 64%
2006 63%
2004 65%
2002 67%
2000 67%

Wisconsin is a bulwark of crony capitalism and has been for generations.

Ever heard of “government cheese”?

You are not a patriot but a globalist. I wish you were not my countrymen. I deserve better than you. I deserve better the Ryan as the SOTHOR.

Thank you for the history reminder. As I woke this morning I realized today is the day we consider which way we go and what WTP want as a Nation. Then a prayer for our Nation, for Trump and Nehlen. Yours was the first post read this morning. While reading a feeling of calm, joy, and the fact we are heading for a brighter future overcame the feeling of desperation. Strange as it may seem, I felt Mr. Nehlen is the magician to pull the rabbit out of the hat.

Holy Father, we ask that you do not forsake us. Amen. In God’s name we pray, let it be written.

Ryan likely will win but the HuffPo has been urging Dems to vote for Nehlen in the primary.

So you choose open borders, blanket amnesty, continued unfettered Muslim immigration, increased HB-1 visas, increased spending, and job killing trade agreements like TPP? How did you lose your way from the HuffPo and end up at Free Republic?
