IIRC, the turnout data was developed using the same survey methods as the voter preference data. I’m trying to remember Rasmussen, who explained it 4 years ago. I’m thinking they argued that even those calls had to be weighted where others were saying that the only discernment had to be for “registered to vote by that time” and who they were supporting. I think they ignored past voting history. They appear to have been right.

My memory is unclear on it.

Nope. It isn’t. These people were around then and were the most accurate in their predictions.

All they’re saying is that they are NOW using the methodology that is correct while other polling firms all go to that same methodology by the time the election actually rolls around.

This is relevant because it's producing somewhat different results from state-run media polling. And also because the national popular vote is usually the same as the electoral result. It's an interesting indicator, three months out.

Tell that to Al Gore.

They didn’t accurately forecast the last election, they backtested their method on previous elections and declared themselves accurate within .03%. They may claim they have been doing this for 30 years, yet I find no evidence of that. Their website wasn’t even active in 2008.

A remarkable writeup about polling.

I remember it as an idiosyncratic, quirky, and extremely powerful interpreted programming language.

I am on my mobile right now. Need to get to the PC with excel. I think these folks have tapped into something interesting, in that consistent bias is better in that the pollsters are true believers. Inconsistent bias is indicative of DNC generated agendas. Any secondary analysis should take that into account

The polls....they are so rigged.

FNC just announced Hillary has opened a 12 point lead on Trump nationwide and a 4-5 point lead in Florida.

Hence my question. Are the pollsters saying she won't?

Well this can’t be true. The alphabet networks, including FNC, keep telling me that the Wicked Witch has a sizeable lead. [/sarc]

Isn’t this the poll that was being posted as most fair

Yes. However, it gives no data. Being from the LA Times, they could change at a critical moment.
