The fact that Muhammad and variants (Mohammad, Mo, Muammar, etc.) is the most popular name for baby boys doesn't signify that they are the largest number or % of newborns. Moslems have a lower variance in names - Mo, Akbar, Ali, etc. tend to recur much more frequently than John, Jacob etc.
If you look at the statistics at the link above you will see that, in 2011:
Age group | %Christian | %Moslem | %No religion |
---|---|---|---|
All Ages | 59.28% | 4.83% | 25.14% |
0 to 4 | 43.66% | 9.09% | 34.29% |
5 to 7 | 51.09 | 9.19 | 29.10 |
50+ | 76.6% | 1.48% | 11.59% |
8 to 50 | 52.13 | 6.34 | 30.94 |
So, we see that the older folks are Christian, but the young folks are increasingly non-religious and MOslems are increasing at 9%. This is a cause for concern and something that can be fixed, handled now -- it is not a "beyond saving" stage yet.
Secular hedonism is not an alternative to Christianity. Islam is.
