Priests celebrate mass, offer mass, they even say mass.

according to our current Novus Ordo parishes, the priest is referred to as a ‘presider’...

kind of in the way a designated council person would ‘preside’ over a municipal budget discussion...

gotta love the reverence of the Novus Ordo...

Apart from the occasional wedding or funeral, I have not attended a novus ordo mass in 20 years. I find them very sad, at best, or enervating.

"Presider" is an apt description as the fellow who in the past did all the work today spends most of the time sitting in a chair while assistants, invariably female, do the heavy lifting.
