(CNN)Khizr Khan on Tuesday accused Donald Trump of dodging the Vietnam War draft, and said he shouldn't have accepted a Purple Heart given to him at a rally earlier in the day, deeming it the latest sign of his inability to empathize with parents of fallen soldiers.
"You dodged the draft," Khan, a Muslim whose son was slain in the Iraq War, said of Trump to CNN's Anderson Cooper. "Put that Purple Heart back on that person's chest."
A military veteran supporting Trump had gifted the Republican presidential nominee his Purple Heart, prompting Trump to say he "always wanted to get the Purple Heart" and this was "much easier" than serving in combat.

Khan’s fifteen minutes of fame should have ended about a week ago. But he keeps piping up and Trump continues to respond so the may never go away.
Draft dodger,I wonder what does he say about Hillary’s husband.
I wonder if he's got a T-shirt like the one this CAIR supporter is wearing?
And I agree with Trump. I'd like to hear Kahn's wife's opinion on that whole "easy to use and operate" thing, too.... if she's allowed to have one.
CNN and the rest of the MSM are coordinating their message openly.
They’ve got five attack point for today.
The convention showed them people hate Hillary. So now it’s all go after Trump. Keep the voters home and steal it with street money in November.
Fighting Trump so Hillary won’t have to.
I hope Trump will ignore this pest.
This is about the same thing Obama’s tantrum yesterday was about - they are upset Trump has suggested banning/delaying further muslim invaders from coming here. It is personal with BO & Khan.
“Khan is nobody. Can we please focus on defeating Hillary?”
Agree. This Khan business is a Hillary campaign rabbit trail to re-direct the narrative from Hillary’s failures to Trump’s “unfitness” to be Pres.
John Kerry ring a bell?
I think Khan is definitely an Agent for Hillary. But I also groaned when Trump accepted that Purple Heart. The optics of that were horrible. He should have said thanks but no thanks. I can’t accept what I didn’t earn.
This khan character is driving a wedge.
He only hardens our resolve for Trump all the way to the White House.
I haven’t seen or heard any response from Trump re this little twit for the last couple of days. Nothing on twitter, nothing in the speeches I’ve listened to. What have I missed?
However, you are correct. Trump should treat this man with dignified silence, and leave it to others to dig up and publish relevant information.
What does Khan thinks of how Trump eats KFC chicken? Are we going to be hearing from this guy every day 'til election?
I see on that CNN site, that Khan said McCain was a hero to his son. Is that due to Trump not supporting McCain's reelection?
Let’s spell his name correctly and that is CON.
You haven't missed anything. Trump hasn't said anything about this guy in awhile, even in campaign speeches. Its just the media keeping putting him out there.
This dude’s turning into the gift that just keeps giving
Point well taken - as always, hindsight is 20/20 vision, eh? :-/
“He should have said thanks but no thanks. I cant accept what I didnt earn.”
I’m not so sure because that may have hurt the feelings or offended the vet. I am sure it meant a lot to give it to Trump and the decision to do so wasn’t made lightly.
That was code for, "my rate just quadrupled, dems"
