If they were true believers in evolution, they would believe that even if 99% of the plants and animals on earth were made extinct, SOME would survive and in 5 or 10 million years would repopulate the earth with all kinds of new species.

A short history of the liberal’s war on energy around here.
Coal fired plant nearby. 15 years ago the greenpeace types aided by the local press attacked non stop. End result the stacks were torn down and rebuilt with clean coal scrubbers. Nothing but beautiful white steam bellowed forth.
Now they are attacking the coal ash piles and bringing forth lawsuits. This coupled with the insane taxation on carbon means the plant is changing to natural gas.
The trains that brought the coal will no longer have that paying freight job meaning revenue for this line will decrease, meaning someone else will lose a job.
Awww. I was expecting to go to somewhere like the Far Side. As in, "The real reason dinosaurs became extinct." :(
