I, like millions of Americans saw your speech at the DNC on Thursday night.
I wish to offer my sympathy for the death of your son, Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in action in Iraq.
As a former US Army officer, and a veteran of the Gulf War, I can certainly understand the pain and anguish that you and your wife endure every day.
Your son died saving the lives of his fellow soldiers. As Jesus told his disciples, according to the Gospel of John, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

The approach Trump might have taken was to ask the DNC when the Baptist, Jewish or Catholic parents would be invited to talk about their children lost in combat? He should also mention that the Nazis would be very proud of the religious test the DNC instituted to be allowed to participate in their line up of speakers.

this whole story is phony.. let’s get real here...the Khan’s son was killed over 12 years ago.. The grieving mother has high blood pressure and is so distraught she can’t speak excuse that the husband gave for her is total BS.. Not buying it...They aren’t the first people to lose a son in combat or a child for that matter,,, it comes with the territory,, they were up there for one reason .. to try to destroy Trump because they want Hillary Clinton to be President and tons more Muslims brought into this country not vetted.. and for that reason I couldn’t care less about them because they couldn’t care less about the destruction of this country if Hillary Clinton is elected.. no empathy for them anymore

This whole issue is an example of Trump’s stupidity. He is correct on the issue, but too stupid to express it artfully enough. If he would have just expressed that as President he was going to stop refugee immigration from war torn middle eastern countries because of the high threat of letting terrorism on our shores he could have left the whole religion aspect out of it.
He could have harkened back to America’s recent past and the refugee immigrants we took in from South Vietnam to show America’s generosity. But he could have also expressed the fact that none of these people were a threat to America, indeed they were coming here to contribute. He could have even had former Vietnamese refugees speak on his behalf.
Now some of you might give me the tired old excuse that yeah Trump is not a professional politician. Yeah, well neither am I and I figured out what to say. I also don’t have a team of politicos advising me on what to say and I came up with that all by myself. There is no excuse. Trump keeps tripping himself up and can’t get out of his own way. We have the weakest and most corrupt candidate running on the Democratic side and we have our own candidate who acts like he’s trying to lose. It’s frustrating because in the end it is we, all of America that will lose.
This slimy uppity scumbag Muslim Khan and his wife with her snarling buttocks need to jump on the next flight to the Mid-East and get the hell outa our country.

I’m unclear as to whether the soldiers Capt Khan was with that day were Americans or Iraqis being trained by Americans.
Seems Capt. Khan was a military intelligence officer, not a front line combat officer, if I am understanding what I have read recently properly.
It is not certain that Capt. Khan was a John Wayne hero or just an officer in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Who else died in that incident? Americans? Iraqis?
He was at the front to die the fastest to be a muzzie martyr. Nothing more, nothing less. To set up what we are talking about today.
Well WHY don’t we know the answer to those great questions???
The Dems were counting on GOP passivity in the face of a frontal personal attack.
They put someone up there who they thought could not be rebutted.
Khan is a highly placed Dem operative. He would replace the Constitution he waved around with Sharia law in a heartbeat.
He attacked Trump when it was Hillary who voted for the war that consumed their son.
And your theory is baloney.
The Dems felt that they had a winner in the Khan narrative that would continue to pay dividends, even after the first volley was fired.
Trump took the high road, and the media deliberately clipped his statements to exclude the part where he praised Khan’s son and service. Then the media played their assigned role to attack Trump after Khan’s initial parry, and formed the narrative they wanted.
And they would have done that no matter what Trump said.
Their toadies in the MSM are STILL trying to keep this story alive.
I am glad Trump did not bow down to the false narrative of the Khan-job.
Khan did not make this about his son—he made it personally about Trump.
And for that Khan needs to be held accountable.
Being a Gold Star father or mother does not give you automatic license to to attack other people.
Cindy Sheehan was another Gold Star mother that no one could defend themselves against. She was used until her use-by date expired and then kicked to the curb.
Trump is not stupid.
He has dealt with far more challenging people than the press and the Dems.
He is playing them like a fiddle and the concerto being played is wonderful to listen to.
I’m thinking, as a career military officer for over 35 years....something about this just don’t smell right. No officer would inspect his troops out in the open during combat...this just don’t pass the good sense test!! Something just ant right here.
He could have referenced his own military service and that of his sons, but since like the Romney and Burr families the Trump boys don’t serve, that was not possible.
