If duct tape was available, why was electrical tape used to secure the burgler to the tree? Electrical tape is pretty much worthless for anything except wrappping wired connections

Electrical tape is pretty much worthless for anything except wrapping wired connections. The only time I see electrical tape used on TV is when I'm watching Cops and there's a wayward alligator in someone's backyard. For the life of me I don't know why they wrap alligator's jaws with the stuff. Perhaps you've seen it.
