The Constitution grants no power to Congress to pass laws on the subject of immigration.

During the cold war we did not allow avowed communists to immigrate, or even set foot here.

No one questioned that as unconstitutional.

If they claim that was political or they were our enemies, shariah law is both.

Of all the ignorant pronouncements in the 2016 presidential campaign, the dumbest may be that the Constitution forbids a “religious test” in the vetting of immigrants.
“Dumbest”? Try most mendacious.

Not to mention that they are not “immigrants” if they come here illegally (ostensibly as “refugees”) by executive order anyhow. Never validate the opponent’s argument by using his Newspeak.

There’s the fourth clause of Article 1 section 8. And that is given solely to Congress, and not the executive branch or its multifarious unconstitutional “departments”.

“The Constitution grants no power to Congress to pass laws on the subject of immigration.”

But it does. It does not grant that to the president.

Liberals would have you believe that it is illegal to medically screen or require that immigrants have the ability to support themselves and their families.

The president can bar any class of people he wants from coming here. Carter not only ban Iranians from coming here during the hostage crisis, he ordered the deportation of many thousands of students, business people, and others who were here with legal visas. People don’t seem to remember that.

I don’t think we allowed Germans, Italians, or Japanese to immigrant here during WW2. Matter of fact, thousands of German and Italian nationals here were detained in camps during WW2, not just Japanese. Many of the Germans and Italians remained in the camps until well into 1946.

You’re improperly equating naturalization (becoming a citizen) with immigration (becoming a resident.)

But it does.

No, it does not.

Prove me wrong. Cite a specific clause in the Constitution which grants anyone the power to control immigration.

What?! Please read it again.

Article 1 section 8 specifically say CONGRESS shall have power “To establish a uniform rule of naturalization.”

You need to look up the definition of "naturalization." It means to be made a citizen. It does not mean to be granted the right to immigrate.

You’re really going to argue that naturalization does not encompass immigration? Wow.

Ok, I’m backtracking here. You actually made a great point. Found this article interesting though: https://www.i2i.org/does-the-constitution-really-give-congress-power-over-immigration/

The US Code grants it to the president and the US Attorney General. There doesn’t appear to be a restriction on religious tests.

Per 8 USC §1182

(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
“Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

It’s incredible how this law is basically being ignored.
