I know the elderly in S Korea are having a lot of trouble getting by because there is no SS and the kids are LEAVING THEM. THAT never happened before.
Even my asian friends here have their parents living with them. Where else would they go if they dont have SS or savings?
To be frank, after my brain injury, it was made pretty clear I wasn’t welcome to live long term with any kin.
Only mom, of course said i could stay with her. My fiance and now wife ended up moving in with me and taking care of me.
I didn’t hold it against them, but I never forgot it.
My mother and her brothers and siters are all in 70s and 80s, and some soon 90s, and plans are being made already for the less fortunate ones to live with the more fortunate ones.
The times, they are a changing
Your kids said you weren’t welcome to live with you? That’s got to really hurt.
