We may be seeing a total lockout of the US from the Middle East.

Turkey is moving toward Russia and Iran. US assets in Syria a pretty much doomed without supply through the Turkish border. US assets in Iraq are tolerated by the Iraqis and the Iranians only as long as they are helpful against ISIS. Jordan and Israel are moving toward Russia too, albeit slower. Al-Sisi will not ever forgive US support of MB.

This leaves the Saudis as about the only ally in the region.

And the really sad thing is that the Saudis are not really our allies at all. They tolerate us because we protect them militarily. We tolerate them because...well, I don't know.

This reminds me of a discussion on American-Turkish friendship between Turks and American diplomats about fifty years ago.

When our friendship was mentioned by the American, the Turk replied...”WE ARE NOT FRIENDS! We just happen to have the same enemies!”

Reminds me Turkey now is looking away from the USA.
