PolitiFact.com has been rating the truth of political statements since 2007. We grabbed the 2000 or so pages of people who had listed affiliations of Democrat, Independent, or Republican, kept only those who had at least 20 statements rated, ran a few python scripts, and produced this list of the ten most honest and most lying politicians. The “Honesty Index” is our invention (it’s the weighted average of how many truths and lies each person told) where 1.0 means they always told the total truth, and 0.0 means they only told pants-on-fire lies. “Percent Lies” is just that: what percentage of their statements were rated as Mostly False, False, or Pants On Fire.
That’s right. The ten biggest liars in American politics are all Republican. In fact, 18 of the top 20 liars are Republican. On the other hand, only 2 of the top 10 most-honest politicians are Republican.

Politifact is a Democrat propaganda organization.
It is telling that we see no Bushes or Mittens among the liars .. they are seen as Hillary supporters in the current cycle and good Democrats. :P
Politifact needs to get hacked.

Pure hogwash and BS, but repeated often enough, perception becomes reality for some...
People who put out garbage like this should be ashamed, but the fact that they would do so proves they lack that emotion, and any sense of honesty.
“Honest” and “politician” in the same sentence? That in itself is a stretch. If it’s a career politician (completed at least two terms), there is a presumption that they are corrupt (focused on their own political future rather than that of their constituents or America). So a rookie politician may be honest. But a career politician is presumptively corrupt and that presumption can only be reubutted by the politician’s own clear and convincing evidence to the contrary.
What, exactly are they calling lies?
I have observed that what liberals call “lies” is any statement of fact that does not fit their narrative or further their agenda. Whereas a “lie” to a conservative is any statement that is not consistent with known, objective, verifiable, fact.

Dennis Kucinsh “most truthful” good! Now we can be confident we are being examined by space critters! Not to mention the absolute truth and veracity of progressive doctrines.
So disappointing that specificity was lacking. It would be satisfying to evaluate the statements they made. I guess we’ll have to rely on this guy’s fact-checking ho ho ho.
