Well, there are states that require a thumbprint to get a drivers license, so obviously it is an option. Of course, the real issue involves in part the question of whether we really believe that voter fraud is a significant problem. Again, I just cannot imagine that there are a significant number of people (if any) who would go to a lot of trouble to cast an extra illegal vote. In my entire life, I've never met one and in my entire life, I've never met anyone else who told me that they met one.
Common sense tells me that there's a reason for that.

The states need to enforce the laws anyway. Federal laws obviously mean nothing. We need sanctuary states for believers in the constitution where the corrupt Federal Govt. can be ignored.

I am not certain that is true. If they rout it properly it will get to the supremes before the election, because it is such an emergency, to correct the injustice don’t you see. The lower court ruling will be upheld by a tie vote in the Supreme Court, if we are lucky. Thus all election ID laws will be struck down. Not for nothing did Scalia pass away.

With all due respect, you sound EXACTLY like the reporterette that didn’t know anyone that voted for Nixon, so how did he win?

Well, I voted for Nixon, but I don't know anyone who has ever cast an illegal vote. And, I don't even know anyone who knows anyone who has dones so. I have met three different people who claim to have met space aliens.
So, what is more rare, people who cast illegal votes or space aliens?
I suggest again that each voter should leave a thumbprint next to his/her signature to comfort those who believe that there is a massive number of voters casting multiple illegal ballots.
