I happen to be an engineer for a major company that makes dishwashers. Yep - you’re correct. DOE regulations limit amount of water and energy during cycle.

Guess what? It’s only getting worse with forthcoming 2019 regulations!

BTW...messing with flood float won help. It’s only there to prevent a flood situation. Water levels are software controlled.

They will cut the water use to a point where the sanitary mitigation of the appliance becomes useless.

The 1.27 GPF toilets are on the ragged edge for solid waste disposal already.

Next comes the reintroduction of the pestilence of the middle ages due to poor sanitation.

So, is there a work around?

The EPA and the DOE have turned the best engineering in the world into a mess.

Ineffective and counting up their energy credits and selling products that do not work well.
