When Arizona delegates to the Republican National Convention were asked Thursday how many would not vote for Sen. John McCain in next month's primary, more than half of their hands went up.
The question stunned veteran pollster Frank Luntz, who had asked it as a part of a presentation on the last day of the convention on the challenges facing the party - one of which was party unity.
"Oh my God," Luntz said. "Where's the chairman? You should have told me this before."

Kaine is too conservative for today’s Rats.
Doh! This is about McCain... More coffee please.
(Boy do I feel like a dope) :-)
John McCain, like Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney, are all political toast, no burnt political toast. bye.....traitors & turncoats.
I have already voted (absentee) for Kelli Ward.
If only we could throw Mike Lee under that same bus. Sadly, his opponent is a Dim transvestisite. Lord help us.
RE McCain:
Every time we needed him to step up for us - he stepped ON us and rushed to help his Democrat friends; they can keep their Useful Idiot.
His moment has passed. Time for new faces that actually want to help our agenda for once.
👍
“..... the reaction of a small group of people in Cleveland is not reflective of the voter sentiment in Arizona...” Romero said.
Once again someone’s not listening to the people.... Bye Bye McCain! And take your faux news daughter with you.
One thing is for certain, the party elites have made it very clear to voters who prefer McCain’s rival that it is morally preferable to stay home in November, or vote for the Democrat if they don’t get their way.
Only in the liberal media is majority opposition called “lukewarm support”.
+1
He has repeatedly shown us nothing but contempt.
I supported that POS in 2008 because of what was on the other side. I voted Country First, instead of FOR McCain. the only thing he did right was bring Sarah Palin to the forefront.
I respect his military service and his experiences as a POW, but that is the extent of what can I say good about him.
Like the old saying: Either Lead, Follow, or GTFO of the way. And it’s time for him the GTFO of the way.
Too bad we can’t dump Flake along with McCain at this election. Go Kelli!
Donated and doing what I can now.
McCain’s daughter is not good enough to shine Ivanka’s shoes! Why does he torture US? When will it end?
‘his Democrat friends’
No, no, no! It’s his “friends across the aisle.” If he’s said that phrase once, he’s said it a thousand times...and it sounds worse every time he repeats it.
“John McCain, like Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney, are all political toast, no burnt political toast. bye.....traitors & turncoats.”
McCain’s “whackbirds” comment destroyed him. It defined him for what he is; an elitist Cronycrat who is part of the establishment.
Oh my God, Luntz said. Wheres the chairman? You shouldve told me this before.
Professional researchers look at data objectively. They do not engage in a project with a specific point of view. Therefore, they are not surprised at the outcome nor do they want the client to tell them what to expect. Luntz may have the credentials of a professional researcher but he does not practice as a professional.
In reality Luntz is a paid consultant and public relations tool for the media and the political class. His job is to perform on television to support and reinforce the story his clients wish the public to believe. His televised “research” is not scientific, it is carefully scripted.
Luntz’s reaction means one of two things:
1) McCain’s situation is much worse than the media is telling us. Luntz wasn’t able to find and recruit enough enthusiastic McCain supporters for his event.
2) The establishment has decided to dump McCain and is deliberately signaling to the people, and the local party operatives, McCain is vulnerable and it is okay to vote against him.
There is no way the “chairman” didn’t brief Luntz before the show.
