Donald Trump’s dark speech to the Republican National Convention, annotated
The Ministry of Propaganda, AKA the Washington Post-Turtle ^ | July 21 at 6:40 PM | By Philip Bump and Aaron Blake

Posted on 07/21/2016 7:55:59 PM PDT by Lazamataz

Below are Donald Trump's remarks accepting the Republican nomination as delivered. Where text is in bolded, it denotes a place where Trump's comment deviated from the original draft that leaked to the press.

Friends, delegates and fellow Americans: I humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the presidency of the United States.

USA! USA!

Who would have believed that when we started this journey on June 16th of last year we – and I say “we” because we are a team – would have received almost 14 million votes, the most in the history of the Republican Party, and that the Republican Party would get 60 percent more votes than it received four years ago.

The Democrats, on the other hand, received almost 20 percent fewer votes than they got four years ago.

Amen, Laz.
It’s a free country where anyone can express an opinion. No matter how much we, the people, find it repugnant.
The proper response is to ignore, rebut, and ridicule.

I wonder how many weeks until we see the 2016 version of the Daisy Ad.

August 15?
Labor Day?
October15?

It’s coming, I just wonder when.

Most likely the entire month of October.

"It’s like, every ‘news outlet’ competes with the next one to be more outrageously biased."

They think they can get readership that way. They're too stupid to realize that their bias reporting is what has turned most Americans against the news media.

I agree. Too many Americans are unable to filter out the truth. Flat out lies being published as truth should be a crime.

We gotta do something. The press has descended into pure evil. Something’s gotta change.

I share you frustration and understand where you're coming from. But I think that there is a lot more competition than there has been in the past, and that trend will continue.

The MSM doesn't have the monopoly that it used to have, and it won't be much longer before it disappears. Already cable TV is on its way out. The media audience is getting more and more fragmented, which means more points of view.

I think the best way to counter the lies of the Washington Post et al is to let market forces do the work. As long as information remains freely available (i.e. absent government censorship and control of the Internet), the truth will come out.

Look at Brexit. Look at what Trump has accomplished in terms of dealing with the media.

“Dark speech”??

Just as the speech ended, an NBC commentator pronounced it “dark”.

Yep, they all got together with the long knives.

PBS Woodruff, Eifel, et al calling it “Dark”. Not one good word. These people are out of touch.

The pressholes are plagiarizing whoever sent out the talking points memo: we pro-americans are dark. Trump’s speech was dark.

To which I reply: Dark Speeches Matter!

Tsk, tsk. That’s no way to get your press credentials back. Another article like this and we’ll have to cite you for “not playing well with others”.

But who gets to decide what’s the truth? Government bureaucrats? Judges? A strong First Amendment is the best policy.

Don't bother going to the link. The headline says it all. It's pure propaganda. It's all pure BS.

I don't...They demand that I pay them to read their phony articles...Not a chance...

Evidently “dark” is the jour-no-list word of the day.
