Phil Robertson to Ted Cruz: Give Me a Break, Endorse Trump Already
Breitbart ^ | July 21, 2016 | Trent Baker

Posted on 07/21/2016 9:40:58 AM PDT by proust

“I mean, give me a break, Ted, go ahead and endorse [Donald Trump]. You lost, he won. I think Cruz is a terrific guy, strict constitutionalist. He’s not the most bubbly guy I’ve ever run across, if you understand what I’m saying. But, I love that dude. All the guys who lost, and gals, they all need to swallow their pride and say, ‘The people — the Republican party has said Donald Trump is the man we want in the White House,'” Robertson stated.

It doesn’t surprise me. Cruz is a Christian and loves the Constitution. He’s very principled. That he stuck to those principles and could not endorse Trump at the convention was his mistake....if he couldn’t do that then he shouldn’t have gone.

It is a costly error that has, most likely, ruined any political future. It’s not good for our side though. Cruz vs “insert your Dem or GOPe name here” is a no-brainer for me...but I think he’s finished, I’m not sure what he was thinking. Very disappointing.

“Ted, listen to your real friends.”

While you still have some...

“Are you that dumb Rush”

In truth, he always was an establishment guy. He even chastised himself for “carrying water” for them, in his own words.

The establishment has been abandoned. It is mostly an empty camp. I don’t think he much cares anymore.

On a happy note, I had business in Jackson, Mississippi the other day. I turned in to the Rush program - and he had been DISPLACED by LAURA INGRAHAM! I listened as long as could, while the signal held up as I drove out of town. Probably would not have done that with Rush. A serendipitous windfall.

“Cruz is a Christian and loves the Constitution. He’s very principled.”

That is zero out of three for accuracy. He mocks God and takes His name in vain with televised insincere imitations of prayer, disdains the Constitution’s treaty making provisions, and is an oath breaker. Lot’s more that could be said against him but he isn’t worth the pixels to do it.

Maybe Phil can do an intervention.

Rush knows what side his bread is buttered on. The Establishment side.

[ I think Cruz is a terrific guy ]

Might be off there, Mr. Robertson, just a wee bit, in your assessment.

The Republican party has said Donald Trump is the man we want in the White House?

What really happened was the American people had to literally drag this party into reality.

If he can keep his Senate seat, he can be a perpetual presidential candidate/Senator from Texas with a small, but loyal following, sorta like with Ron Paul.

Yes, Ron Paul's fans are still here doing their thing, but the times they are a-changin' pretty fast and it's not the America it was even during Ron Paul's time in the role.

However, in these times and on this side of our evermore Balkanized American politics, there's room for another niche and Ted owns it.

Plus, and Ron Paul couldn't say this, I heard it claimed it's Ted's destiny or something to be POTUS!

Sales 101 says that's, minimum, a great email bullet point to keep 'em from spitting out the hook and definitely keeps the faithful wanting more, more, more!

To be honest? Our Kabuki Theatre Political Show had gotten more than a little old, tired and stale for me.

The characters routine and boring, the plot predictably predictable, you name it, it sucked bad and I gave it up and quit watching the show.

All of a sudden this new Trump character shows up and I haven't missed an episode since!

What a comeback! This has got to be some of The Best Entertainment I've enjoyed in, like, forever.

Even the Cruz character's short run for what, a couple of seasons? It was really good writing, dialog, back stories...you name it, it's been great entertainment!

I have to/hate to admit it... but, I think I'm hooked and I think I need a hat.

Willie gave the first speech on the first night of the convention.

Yeah I recorded it. I just thought it was funny and how it played out in the family, because I was getting emails from both Willie and Phil, with each supporting different candidates.

I mean I knew they were not fighting (or at least that image never came up for me). I think it would have been interesting to listen in on the political discussions I'm sure they must have had, and if they tried to sway the other their way.
