The correct response should have been, I personally denounce the attack leveled against Melania. While I have very little doubt that Donald played a role in the National Enquirer story, he was completely justified in my opinion. However, it could have just been that the owner of National Enquirer, and a friend of Trump, decided on his own to go ahead and release the story in retaliation to Cruz and his smug reply. Either way, I loved it when it came out and cared less if it was true or not. Another victory for Trump against the sleaze bag.

Cruz’s name was plastered all over that ad. And he did not disavow it until days later when he thought it politically advantageous.
