Ted is attempting to defend himself to mixed applause.
“Hes not perfect, but he wants a better country and would make an awesome Chief Justice.”
With all due respect, Cruz is not any of the things you’ve described. He is a self-centered manipulative and spiteful little man. I liked him, and supported him, but then he did what he did to Carson, and it became clear that he is not guided by principles. He does appear to have a personality disorder. I don’t wish anything bad for him, and actually we should all pray that he finds his way - he has children that are dependent upon him as their father. That said, there is absolutely no way I would ever vote for this person, and he should never be allowed to be anywhere near the Presidency.
I believe it was Jake Tapper who said Cruz refused to go on CNN. If anybody was ducking media it was Cruz.
I have wondered out loud, more than once if Ted was really in it to help Hillary. He has fooled so many people.
Ted supporters were saying it was Trump that was going to help Hillary. That’s how fooled they were/are.
It’s TED that Hillary is quoting today.
“Vote Your Conscience”
We did, Ted. That’s why you are NOT the nominee!
Thanks!!
And what about Cruzs personal attacks against Trump, and his supporters?
Calling us low-information, uneducated, Uniformed, etc.
And blaming Trump for the riots in Chicago?
I’ve never got a dead end Cruzlim to answer that question. They are as deluded as their cult leader Saint Rafael of Goldman.
“Bush, Graham, Kasuch, Cryz...”
All losers. Sore losers at that. Graham has stated he may vote for Hillary over Trump. Seems many in that loser group feel the same way.
They are who they are but no one should be calling them principled.
And one wonders exactly what plan were Cruz and Obama cooking up when Cruz rode on Air Force One last week.....
Yep.
It wasn’t even CLOSE! Cruz was a distant second place. Distant.
Sadly, as he floats off to outer space, he seems intent on giving the Dems and Hillary as much campaign ammo as possible to use against the Republican nominee.
And Cruz thinks he has a future in 2020? Amazing arrogance.
Me too Jane! I’m with you!
but apparently he was getting applause early on in his speech. The boos came when it became evident that Cruz was not going to openly endorse Trump.
...
Yes, parts of the speech were very good. He endorsed the wall. But his getting booed off the stage says it all.
Just for the record, only the galatically naive believe that candidates do not communicate with their PACs... off the record they admit it. It is a fact.
Cruz's PAC insulted Melania. Trump, being a real man, answered it himself. Cruz's father did associate with Oswald and should have been investigated.
To top if off, Cruz ran a guttural, dishonest campaign and blamed Trump for rioters. In the end Trump has played Cruz. The social conservatives, the few that still support Cruz, will reconsider Trump. The Reagan democrats and Bernie supporters will think that if Cruz hates Trump then Trump can't be all that bad. Trump is a genius.
“Trump could have won Cruzs backing “
Cruz’s backing is worthless. Cruz has made it so.
Reagan was being authentic. Cruz is being a hypocrite. He has been a hypocrite throughout this campaign.
“He is trying to upstage Trump/Pence by literally taking over the media cycle in between those two speeches. Cameras will be aimed at him all day. “
My gut tells me Cruz Cult supporters haven’t left the Convention and are probably planning something equally childish tonight when Trump accepts the nomination.
Watch for it.
“it seems to me that Trump shares responsibility for evidently not seeking any accommodation.”
WTH??!!!!!
Trump does not force Ted to be a hypocrite. This is politics, cupcake. Hurt FEELZ don’t mean diddly!
I have not had time to fact check this thought...but I believe that Trump donated to Hillary’s campaign before and don’t remember that Cruz ever donated to her campaign?
I am sure someone can find this faster than me but I am throwing this out there....
Sorry, but I still like Ted Cruz as I guess I like one who can debate and hold his convictions. I don’t think he is as slimy as most politicians I’ve been around....but used to they could hide since the cell phone videos were not rolling every second of their lives. I’ve voted for all republican candidates including Nixon, my first vote for Pres. although there are several I thought candidates were better than the nominees.
One GOOD thing that came out of this:
It showed how “diverse” the Republicans are.
They provided a speaking spot for the MENTALLY ILL!
Cruz and his ilk will claim that there are other choices out there other that Hillary and Trump. Their plan is to throw enough support to Gary Johnson to sink Trump.
Exactly! Ted and his ilk would rather be on the attack against Hillary over the next 4 - 8 years for their own attention.
Ted really does nothing but attack. He hasn’t shown much ability to accomplish much working with others.
If he was as principled as we would have us believe, he would have stayed home.
This was not the venue for him to take his “principled” stand. Trump was nominated. Pence was nominated. It was Pence’s night.
“Vote your conscience” are the three words used by everyone who tried to unbind the delegates. Ted did not use those words to explain how important it was to vote because in the context of the convention it means one thing—Never Trump.
Cruz might as well have said ‘Never Trump.’
Cruz pulled $hit on Carson. Cruz is a clASS act A$$hole. Cruz sided with Ayers against Trump. Cruz is a clASS act A$$hole.
