Riverside police shake and sway with school children as cameras roll. Their county counterparts, deputies from the bomb squad and coroners division, dance while pumping JoinRSD.org signs up and down.
Back east, Detroit cops prance beneath the fist monument to boxing champion Joe Louis, and Cincinnati officers high-step with NFL players.
These videos and dozens of others have been filmed and posted online this year as part of the Running Man Challenge, a cheeky effort that law enforcement officers say is designed to engage the community and show a side of police that the public does not normally see. The videos all feature the same galloping dance performed with varying degrees of skill to Ghost Town DJ's song My Boo.

And, back in the early ‘70’s, when I attended Von Steuben Junior High School on the east side of Detroit, the Detroit Police Department had a rock band that put on a concert for us kids in the school auditorium, and their name was ironically enough, the Blue Pigs.
I’d feel much safer if the Urban Ute hood rats were taught to act more like cops than to have the cops acting like hood rats.
