The Trump team had the full text of the speech in advance, and Cruz talked directly to Trump about what he was going to say two days in advance. The Trump team gave ther tacit approval, but then near the end of the speech, they were seen whipping the crowd to drum up boos.

Cruz told people NOT to stay home in November, and to vote for candidates that would uphold the constitution. The Trump team could have taken that in a positive way, as close to an endorsement as Cruz culs come. it would have been a net positive for everyone, and a unifying gesture. Instead, they laid a trap for Cruz, with the intent of embarassing him and damaging him politically.

This was a set-up, pure and simple. You could see it in the surprise in Cruz’ face. Trump acted in a vindictive and destructive manner. This was so important to him that he did this even though it is going to cost him votes in November. That’s not the behavior of a leader. It’s not the behavior of a decent human being either.

Before you try to spin this falsely on Trump, you might take a look at the following link and picture. It appears Cruz went off-script from the original approved script where he was supposed to endorse Trump.

Take your spin and your Creepy Cruz elsewhere!

You're completely full of shit.

This screen capture of Newt's teleprompter after the Cruz speech proves it was CRUZ who went off script and stabbed Trump in the back:

"Senator Ted Cruz in particular made the key point that we need to elect the Trump-Pence Republican ticket."

that was what New was GOING to say but had to ab lib in a hurry to pretend that Cruz saying "vote your conscious" meant Cruz was endorsing Trump, which of course everyone knew was nonsense.

He was warned by Manafort they’d boo him but he didn’t believe it. Trump handled him a laso and Cruz chose to hang himself with it instead of hitching himself to Trump.

All Cruz’s worst wounds are self inflicted and this is the final one of his short career. He could have been VP then President in 8 years. Instead he threw it all away out pride and ambition.

The speech that Cruz provided and was loaded into the teleprompters had the phrase “we must support the Trump-Pence ticket.” Cruz LIED, this is why even his own Texas Delegates were upset with him and GOP donors wanted to attack him.

Cruz was a snake. Trump had a contingency plan in place knowing the dishonest character of Cruz. You cannot spin this to a positive for Cruz and negative for the entire convention.

"This was so important to him that he did this even though it is going to cost him votes in November"

It won't cost him anything. He likely gained enormous support from the NeverTrump/Cruz faction.

Ted Cruz could have stayed home. Instead he accepted Trumps invitation to a dinner party, ate the food and drank the wine, then pissed on the carpet and kicked his dog.

Ted Cruz did this to himself, solidifying his national reputation as the most hated man in America.

If you honestly believe your post you are:

1. Gullible
2. Stupid
3. Ted Cruz

Or maybe just all of the above.

Politics is a blood sport. Cruz needed to be taken off the field. He calculated wrong. All’s he had to do was tow the line of doing what is/was best for the country by supporting the party’s choice. Instead he miscalculated and did what he thought was best for Ted.

Americans really don’t like sore loooossers.

Oath breaking, prayer faking, God mocking, Mormon sucking, kiss forcing, vote coercing oily Felito crafted his own fate.

He will continue to roll down the stairs. It will not end until his corrupted public blasphemies are publicly repented of. YOU are part and parcel of his bad actions in condoning them. You are standing next to a new Korah, upholding him.
