Seems the more they’re paid, the less they behave.
Having lived for years in “diverse” inner city neighborhoods (I’m rural now) I noticed long ago, the ones drugging and thugging and fighting all night are the ones who are getting the gubbermint money.
People who had to go to a job in the a.m. didn’t cause anybody any problems.
The neighborhood was always quiet until about 3 pm. That’s when the dole-recipients were waking up, and getting drunk and stoned. By 10 pm, they were brawling in the street. They’d be exhausted when the sun came up, when the employed folk were getting ready for work.
Cutting off the freebies, forcing them to work or starve, would more likely cause them to behave.
I’d love to see Trump raise up workfare.
That would produce workers to replace those ‘returned home’ (such a nicer phrase than deported, and we need to be the new wordsmiths).
If the workfare folks don’t work, then it’s tent camp gubbermint housing for them, with armed curfew, bologna sandwiches and no cell service or TV. Old school. Past time.
