Melania Trumps highly anticipated speech at the Republican National Convention Monday night appears to have nearly copied a paragraph from Michelle Obamas speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

I think you missed the joke.
Yet if Shrillary plagiarized HER speech from a Palin speech we’d be yelling our heads off about it...
Ed
This is the last thing Trump would want to give the media to focus on from her speech or have lead the news cycle after the first day of the convention.
More likely a Never Trump GOPe ringer.
Adults recognize mistakes, they acknowledge them and deal with them head on.
They don’t cover their eyes and ears and go “Mmmmmmmmm, I can’t hear you.”
No teacher would have accepted this as a homework assignment, chance alone wouldn’t have had SO many words align with another’.
It was plagiarism, and the speechwriter needs to be fired.
Ed
Melania Trump’s speech was so full of old adages, that so many other people have used in speeches, in interviews, in books... that we should probably just throw up our hands and stop speaking. All words and phrases have been used before, and we are doomed.
>It was plagiarism, and the speechwriter needs to be fired.
The speech writer needs to be sued for fruad. This wasn’t an acident.
Yeah, but if we were driving by a cabin in the woods, and I pointed to a house and said “Who’s woods are these? I think I know. His house is in the village, though, he will not see me stopping here, to watch his woods fill up with snow.” would you say that’s plagiarism or just something millions of people have said?
We gotta recognize error as error, whether it’s our side or their side.
Ed
Melania IS the current news cycle... and why not? She is beautiful, brainy, and bold ... not to mention she is a TRUMP.
SHE is the focus, the victim of the media, and she has taken up all the news focus from the fireworks display from the "cruzer" continuum. If I didn't know any better...
Way to go, Mrs. Trump!
Yup...an error done is an error done, regardless if it’s done by our side or theirs.
Truth is truth...regardless if it hurts our side or helps us.
Ed
Those examples of short phrases you post don’t disprove the obvious plagiarism here.
and now that they have fired the first salvo against the republican nominee’s wife for a misdemeanor “quote” that she did not intentionally do herself... those attacks...
THEY WILL BE USED TO JUSTIFY VENTING of the NATIONAL SPLEEN regarding THE ALL OUT RAPES, PERSONAL ATTACKS and CRIMINAL ACTS carried out by the upcoming DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE’S SPOUSE.
Harder, faster, verifiable and outright criminal. It is going to be delicious.
I actually love it.
You think Yaelle’s head should roll because she sees the obvious truth that Melania’s speech was partially plagiarized?
How absurd...
Ed
Interesting point. Maybe there’s an ur speech or sermon or passage from a book that’s common to both. If that’s the case, then Trump will be whipping it out tomorrow and it will have been a very well designed trap.
My guess though is that someone put that paragraph in there as a placeholder to be revised later expressing a similar thought but in Melania’s own words, but then forgot to revise it.
That or a mole. Trump used a lib ghostwriter for his book and got burned by the guy the other day. Wonder if he let a lib speechwriter work with Melania. He may have a blind spot there.
That’s what I think happened. It was a Shrillary plant or a Never Trumper.
Ed
Of course they don’t disprove plagiarism for the other phrase... I don’t have time to Google through 15 million search hits to try and disprove that. I’m lazy.
And it was a lazy speech for the wife of the candidate; the speech writer/s should be fired.
What joke was that? Insulting the next First Lady?

She did a nasty thing? Really? How moronic!
At worst, she repeated platitudes found in valedictorian speeches. Which Moochelle cadged off who knows!
