Top Republicans have an unusual argument underpinning their quest to keep the Senate: that presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, whose mere tweets generate their own national news cycles, will have virtually no effect on how voters consider down-ballot Republican candidates this fall.

All this talk of down-ballot damage was nothing more than electorate-manipulation...to get the people to stop supporting Trump.
Well it didn't work! Trump will be the nominee and if worthless, moderate republican incumbents lose in November, it will not be because of Trump but because of their own pathetic, spineless voting records.
“Trump will be the nominee and if worthless, moderate republican incumbents lose in November, it will not be because of Trump but because of their own pathetic, spineless voting records.”
Senate republicans deserve to lose the senate.
It’s their own damn fault.
Just comparing the favorability ratings will tell a person all they need to know.
This proves Trump’s poll problems are all the doing of the quislings who want Hillary Clinton elected to show how conservative they are. Shame on these bastards.
Well I hope and pray Republicans hold it so that Trump’s slate of Supreme nominees make it. God save the Supreme Court.
The only one that seems 100% lost is Kirk in Ill. I say kick him when he’s down-and out.
“Well I hope and pray Republicans hold it so that Trumps slate of Supreme nominees make it. God save the Supreme Court.”
Agree.
But given the current crop of GOPee’s in the senate, there’s no guarantee they’ll confirm Trump’s nominees nor be any less contentious with Trump than a Democrat Senate.
My thoughts exactly. You can almost hear the sad sacks now... “we regret that President Trump wants to move us towards a meanie-weenie-racist-homophobic Supreme Court that actually values the Constitution of dead white slaveholders...”

Exactly.
Better to have the dems in the out in the open pulling that crap, rather than the pubbies giving the dems “bi-partisan” cover.
Oh, I think they will do magnificently better than a Democrat Senate. Not as a well as a principled conservative Senate but magnificently better nonetheless.
With a Dem Senate we’d be dead in the water.
Trump was never going to be drag on the down ballot candidates. That BS was always just one more tactic used by the RINO/Globalist Trump haters to try and discredit Trump and to scare voters away from him.
It didn’t work during the primaries and it won’t work the first Tuesday in November. So all these whiners need to shut-up about that and support Trump, and run the best campaigns they can in their states and congressional districts.

Johnson in Wisconsin looks pretty bad.
Others look decent to good.
Not sure about Indiana with Bayh back in. Pence may help hold that seat. Rubio looks like he’ll hold Florida.
Pennsylvania and New Hampshire may depend on who wins that state. McCain may be in real trouble. NC and Missouri are looking good.
On the other hand, only Nevada looks like a possible GOP pickup.
Currently GOP has 54 seats.
I was up way too late last night, and I remember smiling and laughing at an article showing Speaker Ryan in danger of losing his seat.
Was I dreaming?
Bingo!..what u said!...expose them to sunlight...let the voters see if they “tan or get burnt”....*G*
