Fayette County Commissioner Vincent Vicites was shot early Sunday in his residence in South Union, county District Attorney Richard Bower said.
Bower said he was meeting with Uniontown state police Sunday afternoon, and that the shooting remained under investigation.
He declined to give details, or say if anyone was facing charges in the incident. Bower said Vicites is in stable condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
State police have released no information on the incident.
Vicites resides at the Crestvue Drive home in South Union with his second wife, Deanna Vicites. He is the father of two sons, Joey and Nicholas.
Vicites, 55, a Democrat, served four terms as a commissioner from 1996 to 2011, before seeking and winning a return to the board last year.

Thanks Obama
Not sure what this is about. But it looks like the Nwo has instructed to keep things going during the Convention. The Nwo realizes America has thrown them out and now they are trying to start a civil war here to retain power.
Lots of big state, federal and charity $$$ flowing into Fayette Co after recent flood.
just sayin’
Suicide attempt? A family member shot him? A hunting accident? What?
Please note that this is Fayette County, Pennsylvania — located SE of Pittsburgh — not the county of the same name in WV that was recently ravaged by the floods.
That said, it has some rough parts/rough characters, so foul play certainly is not out of the question.
Vague article, my guess is that his meeting with the state police didn’t go as expected.
Early Sunday means Saturday night so the commish might have been
liquored up.
I had to read those two sentences twice. Vicites was shot. He was not meeting with police though, it was the District Attorney, Brown, who was meeting with the police.
You’re right.
When I saw Ruby Memorial Hospital, I just assumed it was WV
My bad...lol
