As previously noted, Iran's people are largely young, progressive in their ideologies, and unsympathetic to the myopic religious extremism of their government. Their open-armed embrace of modern technology has equipped them with powerful tools, which arguably caught even their brutal regime off guard with the advent of the hugely popular Green Movement and its successful use of social media and other 21st-century communications technologies. Such advances should continue to be encouraged as the strongest and surest means of enabling Iran's people to share ideas, discuss their place in the world, and ultimately of their own will and accord decide that it is time to sweep away the repressive regime under which they currently suffer.

Yes if there is regime change.
No.
Bush should have coordinated with Israel to take out their nuclear facilities before he left office. He might have gotten hauled in front of a war crimes tribunal in Brussels (sent there by Obama) but it would have been his greatest accomplishment and would have stood as a landmark in courage.
They are still Persians.

We met some Iranians who were educated Christians and barely escaped with their lives. They had to leave virtually everything behind.
“Please Dont tell me freepers now support a war against Iran.”
We need to destroy ISIS, then the Saudis. Then only overfly all of them constantly and deal with any insurgencies. Otherwise, protect Israel, and let the rest of it kill itself into oblivion! Maybe drop a few planeloads of pigs, followed by planeloads of small arms, and let “nature” take it’s course!
I’d rather set it up so that Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia all fight each other.
Of course, first, we must kick Turkey out of NATO.
Sure they are.
Iran fell out of favor with the U.S. because the Shah of Iran, who was installed by the U.S. government was overthrown by its people. The fallout between the U.S. and Iran had more to do with that history than common interests.
Huh. Iran supports war with you.
Nope.
Hitler once asked of the Pope and the Vatican, “How many divisions does the Pope have”?
How many good weapons do the “progressive” people of Iran have to use against a totally fascistic Islamic dictatorship? And will they use them in an uprising?
Based on how Obama and Hillary/Kerry betrayed their last attempt to a peaceful protest (The Green or Orange Spring), I don’t think these young people are going to risk torture and death to overthrow the Islamic psychopaths any time soon.
Meanwhile, Back in Qom, the Ayatollah and the Gnomes of Islam plot to destroy Israel, Saudi Arabia and take over Iraq. Their nuclear program is in full swing and a nuclear war of conquest for the Iranian Caliphate is in the works.
More neo-con blather.
Now that we have dumped thousand of American lives and trillions of dollars into the black hole that is the middle east, the author wants us to start the cycle all over again.
Iran isn’t our problem. There is nothing worth having or winning there. While I think it’s all fine and nice and sweet that the young Iranians are all fine and nice and sweet and progressive, why should we care? What’s in it for us? So we get to clasp a sharia snake to our breast rather than a sunni one?
Screw that. I have a better idea: let’s get the hell out of the middle east. We’ve spent the last 100 years trying to discern which bunch of throat-slitting mohammedans is more friendly to American and our interests. Happily after 100 years of screw-ups we have the answer: NONE of them are friendly to our country or our interests.
We no longer have a burning need for oil, so let the Europeans spend their lives and treasure in that quagmire.
George Bushinvading Iraq was like taking a baseball bat to a hornets nest. It got rid of a secular dictator who kept the terrorist jihadis crushed, and it freed them to run wild and create mchaos. Bush deserves the massive unpopularity he has brought on himself and his family. He is a fool and one of our worst Republican presidents
Sounds like you want US to go to war against Iran. I guess the Iraq war disaster didn’t satisfy you and you hunger for more costly warfare
Instead of Iraq we should have hit Iran. Iran is the most dangerous country in the world. If they are given time they will burn the world to a cinder. Hunger fo war, what an idiotic thing to say. War is upon us.
being called an “idiot” by you is a high honor
I’m sorry that you weren’t strong enough to resist the obama-inspired MSM indoctrination.
They live so much by religious class over there that if you are not part of the prevailing class, you live in fear all the time. It is unfortunate that they can’t live the way we do with the “democratic” government they profess.
red
Then enjoy.
