Pence's positions really don't matter. The POTUS sets policy. The VPOTUS executes the policy. If he doesn't like it he can resign.
If Trump says get this or that policy through congress then it's Pence's job to get it done whether or not he agrees with said policy.
Obviously it would be better if the VPOTUS is fully on board but not necessary.
True, but he has Trump’s ear and may try to encourage him one way or the other, and he friends with Ryan, so I hope he takes Trump’s side on matters of conflict. Also, if something, God forbid, were to happen to Trump, then we now have Pence as President.

But it will matter greatly when Trump is done and the veep is president-he can undo the good done m like Bush did with Reagan, bringing us 8 years of Clinton.
