Ann jumped another shark, and just when she was starting to look steady again on her spindly sticks.

We now have old Tweets from Pence where he criticized Trump on the Muslim ban and said he supports TPP. Also, Pence, in an interview the other day, refused to say if he agreed with the wall. He just kept saying he supports Trump. His flip flop on the Religious Freedom Bill concerns me as well.

CNN said Paul Ryan and establishment types liked Pence and wanted him to bring Pence on board so they’d feel better about campaign. Add this to my concerns over Pence debating, and I think Trump should’ve picked Christie because Christie clearly doesn’t care about the establishment (it’s why he supported Trump), is loyal, and supports Trump’s positions. CNN also said Trump’s gut was calling for Christie, but his kids, Manafort, and others were encouraging him to pick Pence. I would have rather trusted Trump’s gut.

I actually didn’t want Newt (too old, too unfocused, too me, me, me ... Christie’s a bit too me, me, me as well).

Christie would be decent as an attack dog, though. Christie probably has better use by the country as AG prosecuting the Obamas, Clintons and other corrupt Dems and Republicans after Trump takes office.

Pence - dry white toast. Nothing tasty, but won’t make you barf.

Rep Duncan Hunter, Jr. from CA I think would be pretty good. Strong on defense for sure.

Maybe the Gov from OK? Liked Gov Abbott from TX, but he had that recent burn injury, so he’s obviously focused on getting better.

Jeff Sessions is awesome - if only he was 10 years younger.

The key for VP is just pick someone that isn’t going to hurt you. Pence probably does that and provides the Midwest attitude counterbalance to Trump’s NYC vibe.

Who knows, this may all be smokescreen and Trump surprises everybody?

Kills me that Cruz acted like such a jerk. If he had behaved himself and didn’t do those shenanigans, most of us would be dancing on the ceiling looking forward to a Trump/Cruz ticket.

That being said, if Trump does choose Newt would I be all upset? No, not at all.

No doubt Trump has hired more people than all of us put together. I trust him to make the right picks.

I don’t really get all the caterwauling over this pick.

Trump is running to be the nominee of a party that is absolutely full to the brim and overflowing with useless losers.

There really is virtually no one he could pick form this party is isn’t utter trash, yet this pick likely helps him with this party, especially considering that this party of total losers thinks Trump is a loser.

Personally, I think Pence is better than Newt, because Newt is rather slippery, and says and does a lot of really dumb stuff. He has proven his GOP losership many times in the past, no need to give him another opportunity.

VPs have little impact but can be helpful in a home state that is close.

OK, let me guess.... worse than George Bush, SR, worse than Dan Quayle, worse than Sarah Palin, worse than Paul Ryan. Historically, the VP pick does not set the world on fire!!!!

The job of Vice President, as described by John Nance Garner (somebody who once actually held the office), was and I quote, “worth as much as a bucket of warm spit”.

This is all about getting a strong midwest connection.
Have Pence spend the next 2-3 months in IA, WI, IN, OH, KS and MO.

Orders are to heal the Cruz damage, build relationships and boots on the ground.
This wouldn’t have been needed if Cruz hadn’t gone ultra-stupid.
Now we have to repair the damage.

My sincere hope is that he does push the agenda. He refused to say he supported the wall the other day, and old tweets show he has criticized Trump on the Muslim ban and supported TPP.

“There sure are a lot of drama queens here of Free Republic.”

Just pissy people that think their posts here makes them insiders in the Trump campaign, and feel slighted that Trump didnt lurk on FR and go to their name and see whom they wanted.

Every other name mentioned in rumor posts have had their level of people for and against no matter how smart the people mentioning them felt they were.

Everyone else, like Palin or West or Cruz, were just vanity choices.

He didnt pick a leftist nor a complete unknown. “Boring” keeps the light on Trump.

I watched Pence at Trump’s rally last night and he gave a good speech.

Trump said from the get go he wanted a guy with D.C. experience and if it’s Pence that is fine.

Regardless who Trump picked it was not going to be that big a deal.

The onus is on Hillary, whoever she picks will be a disaster for her.

I’ve been a fan of Trump from the moment he announced...and given what I’ve been posting on my Homepage here, I’m not surprised at all that he’s about to be nominated (i.e., he simply targeted white voters).

Having said that, Trump kind of boxed himself in, given his antics (sorry for the term, but it fits) and was pretty much left with picking someone of ‘high stature’, as opposed to an attack dog like Newt or Cruz, or an amateur, like Carson, or Carla.

As it is, VP choices can pretty much only hurt a candidate (except when the candidate is really pathetic, like McCain), and Pence will definitely not hurt Trump, and will likely help him a lot.

I’ll trust the Secret Service to cover Trump’s back, and I’ll also trust Trump to run the show. I think all will be just fine.

I’m still worried that with this not being official yet, Christie could still be announced tomorrow.

That would make me sick, I cannot stand Chris Christie.

But I am still going to vote for Trump no matter who he picks, even if it’s Paul Frickin’ Ryan, it’s still clear what must be done in November.

Ann has supported Trump from the very beginning. She was laughed at on talk show when she was the only person who said Trump could win. She’s been a stalwart defender of his. I think her opinion has some weight.
