Against the backdrop of the Minnesota police chief stating today that Ms. Reynolds claims do not match reality . and having looked at the video hundreds of times, Im in agreement with Treeper Nettles who first identified the tri-fold wallet of Philando Castile in the left front pocket of his sweat pants.
Philando Castile - Falcon Heights Police Shooting
When you correct the orientation of the video image (to eliminate mirrored orientation) and then point out the visible location of the hand gun you get this:
mn shooting HANDGUN - WALLET
The wallet was in the left front pocket of his sweat pants (left thigh). Same proximity as the handgun resting part in his lap and part on his left thigh.
Heres the original video where officer Jeronimo Yanez clearly says:
F*** !
I told him not to reach for it I told him to keep his hands off it

Wow, simply unreal.
Something about the woman’s story seemed off to me from the very first.
Yea I saw her on MSNBC and they had her all dolled up with her attorney present. She couldn’t complete a sentence so the attorney did most of the talk to make sure the wrongful death gravy train lawsuit kept moving forward.
Apparently YouTube censored the weed smoking video once before:
http://gotnews.com/youtube-censors-gotnews-coms-research-lavishreynolds-philandocastile/
She says at one point (before coughing grotesquely) to lay off your guns.
Seemed a bit odd for someone not involved in crime to act like she is.
But apparently today it did come out the deceased was licensed to carry.
So it’s back to her version (cop shooting for no reason) to cop’s version (I told him not to move).
I doubt this will bother Philando’s fan club here on FR. It doesn’t fit their anti-cop template. You know who you are.
Life is tough. Its tougher if you’re stupid.
I haven't seen ANY support for Philando here. Enough with the agitprop.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
First, there was a picture of Officer Jeronimo Yarez in one of the local papers and let’s just say I wouldn’t expect him to be found at any Aryan Brotherhood meetings. So, the BLM narrative of another honky-ass white cop with a racial motive doesn’t truly fit with the picture.
Second, the same audio with the “wide nose” comment (if the police are truly using this as a code word for “black person”, it’s downright stupid. Who can’t figure out what that comment means?)reveals some other clues:
There was one active armed robbery investigation in the area and it happened to be at 2424 (name of street), the same street the stop was made on. The eyewitness description of the robbery suspects were two African-American males (no height or weight given) wearing glasses or sunglasses and dark ballcaps with their dreadlocks pulled through the opening in the back of the caps.
The officer on the audio (not sure if this is Yarez or his partner) mentions he is stopping Castile’s car because he resembles the descriptions of the robbers at 2424. He also says “Two two zero tom tom mike” which is probably the Minnesota license plate on Castile’s car. The officer is asking the dispatcher to run the plates while he makes his stop.
So was the officer racial profiling like BLM alleges? Depends how you see it. If stopping a black person to investigate a crime committed by blacks is an example of profiling (some blacks would claim it is), then it was - particularly after the “wide nose” comment. If pulling over a black person to investigate a crime committed by blacks is an example of standard police work, then it was not. If the robbery at 2424 was done by two white grannies, Mr. Castile would not be a good stop.
Then you get to the nub of the incident. Mr. Castile’s billfold and gun were in approximately the same place on his body. How does a cop verify ID without leaving himself open to getting shot? Castile, if you believe the girlfriend, was not resisting. I think the correct procedure would have been to have Castile get out of the car with his hands raised and then the officer could pluck the gun and then the billfold or back-up could after they had arrived.
My personal belief is that Yarez was not out there to hassle a black man. But I think he overreacted to the presence of the gun and should have found another course of action rather than just shooting the suspect. I could see a conviction for involuntary manslaughter. The officer deserves punishment for taking the man’s life while he had a woman and a child in the car and was unlikely to turn it into a standoff.
I hope there is a dashboard cam of the incident to show what went on and whether the officer had just cause to shoot. From what I’ve heard so far, he did not.
I suspect she’s not released the rest of the video because it shows her egging him on to confront the cop with his gun. Maybe even told him to shoot the cop. If you’ve seen her weed videos (there’s more than one) you can’t disagree.
She’s a liar, was high as a kite during the video, and is trying to win the ghetto lottery.
Castille shouldn’t have moved a muscle until directed to by the officer...never give an armed man, especially an officer, a reason to consider you a threat. I have no sympathy for him at this point and nothing but contempt for her. And I used to be such a nice guy...
The police officer did NOT have to wait to see whether the potential armed robbery suspect came up with a wallet or a gun.
The officer will NOT be charged, “From what Ive heard so far,”.
The first thing that seemed off was she didn’t call 911 for an ambulance but kept droning on and on while filming the incident.
“Shes a liar, was high as a kite during the video, and is trying to win the ghetto lottery.”
If you notice, every time one of these gang bangers gets smoked by the police, the family has the lawsuit filed, name trademarked, and XXXXXL Shirts with the pic of the “victim” on the front for $20 a pop before the body is cold.
Yep, a morbid cottage industry. It’s no surprise there is an overlap btw these mutants and mohammed’s cult of death.
You just described what’s wrong in this country. EVERY citizen stopped by a cop must freeze and not move a muscle and shake in fear while saying “Yes, sir” and “No, sir.” Reminds me of the Gestapo in WWII Germany. Or the KGB during the Cold War. The citizens of Germany and Russia feared the cops. Now Americans fear the cops. Something’s wrong in America!
It’s a damned shame when the people are afraid of the cops because we KNOW there are some who are trigger happy and treat people like dirt and get away with it.
Back when I first got my license if you were pulled over you were supposed to get out of the car and hand them your wallet. Now days if you pick your nose you stand a good chance of getting shot. And God forbid if you have to sneeze.
And you sure better not reach for your wallet. If I was carrying, legally, and the cop asked me for my wallet I’d tell him “I’ll be glad to get out of the car and you can reach in my pocket and get it. And while you’re reaching around go ahead and get my legal weapon while your at it. But I’m not reaching for a damned thing!”
If cops are so damned afraid they’re going to get shot at every traffic stop they don’t need to be cops.
Mark
Is that the fault of the police or more a reflection of how violent the culture has become?
Everyone has had their own experiences with LEOs, so I can only relate my own. I’ve dealt with police in about a dozen traffic stops in my years of driving. At no time was I ever in fear as you described and every officer I’ve dealt with was courtesy while some were even friendly. I live in the PR of NJ so carrying here is practically impossible. If I did have my handgun on me during a traffic stop however, I would have no problem alerting the officer of it and waiting for instruction on how to proceed. I respect the fact that he would have to consider the loaded gun a potential threat to his safety and we could both act accordingly to avoid anything unfortunate and potentially deadly. The presence of the weapon changes the equation and showing a willingness to cooperate shows that there is no confrontation.
Late last week there was the story of the traffic stop in Arizona with a CC citizen. Procedure was followed, no one was harmed, and everyone seemed just fine with the outcome and no rights were violated. Ive always had a certain distaste for authority but in situations involving a deadly weapon that could spin out of control rapidly, I’d happily cooperate.
