The family of Philando Castile has shared a copy of his permit to carry letter with Fox 9. The permit was issued by Hennepin County on June 4, 2015.

In MN, pot use is verboten for chl holders.
And regarding your comment, “current PC climate leaves upper management...I agree, however, as you’re probably aware, felony traffic stops were developed and desiged to protect not only the vehicle occupants but the officers as well. Was PC in the mix here? I don’t know.
That’s pretty much what I think and it seems to make sense.
The cop may have been caugh off guard when he said he had a gun permit and then gave him two conflicting orders, let me see your license and don’t move.
Mosby? What a piece of work she was. If anyone should have been prosecuted in that case, it should have been her.
Brother, she should be under the jail for that stunt. They are going to have to bring out a revised law dictionary with her picture under malicious prosecution.
If you've ever read about how the Bolsheviks conquered Russia 100 years ago spurred on by Lenin, it's an extremely effective strategy to de-stabilize society and the economy, then conquer the ruins.
Minnesota does not require permit holders to volunteer the information.
Observe the shoulder strap of the seat belt over the left arm. It would be over the right arm of a passenger. He has fallen toward the center and partially on the center console. Wounds on the left side of his chest from the officer standing next to the driver's side of the car.
I very sure the cop did not wake up that morning and day to himself, “I’m gonna kill Philando.”
The problem for both the officer and dispatcher is going to be the discussion about the “Wide Nose.” That won’t get the cop or dispatcher convicted, but will doom the city in the civil suit.
Another problem is that while the officer thought Philando was an armed robber, he did not request, nor did the dispatcher request additional back-up. That also will doom the city in the civil suit.
Yep...Clearly the governor is complete FOS about the cop being a racist, and he should have never uttered those words prior to a trail verdict etc.
I can almost see it, cop he asked Castile to produce his ID etc, and while he reaches down he quickly says, “I have a CW” and that is when things possibly went southbound very quickly. Did the cop overreact? Did Castile fail to obey what seemed to be a conflicting command quick enough? I don’t know.
True. His actions at the time are relevant though. We will have dashcam video and testimony of 2 officers. I don’t know what happened and will wait for the facts to come out before I make a determination.
‘
Drugs in car invalidated the permit.
And why all the changing stories from Princess?
The Truth isn’t being told.

,
Hold on, in which version of her story did he give conflicting commands?
She’s told four distinct stories.

Maybe Phil intended to say, “I have a gun permit.” but was only able to say, “I have a gun....”
I don’t think that will get much play, and besides it could have been the girlfriends or she could claim it was. Btw, I do not think it invalidates it, unless people are required search every single person they happen to give a ride to.
Yep, or maybe that was all the officer heard as Castile was reaching down for his ID.
Yep, this one has “gentle giant/sweet baby Trayvon” redux written all over it.
Go back and look at well meaning FReepers posts about the two prior events going by initial reports from hostile (to the police) witnesses, whose voices were amplified and supported by a sensationalist, agenda driven media and the usual gang of political carrion feeders and we have people reacting to a picture that turned out to be a negative, 180 degrees out from reality.
Initial reports said Mike Brown was executed while he plead for his life with his hands up. Trayvon was an innocent little kid plugged while defending himself from a psycho cop wannabe white Hispanic.
In both these prior cases, the deceased was high, acting aggressively, were involved in recent criminal activity and had backgrounds that pointed to trouble.
In this case, the deceased strongly resembles somebody caught on video nearby holding up a store at gunpoint. Clothes, shoes and glasses the deceased is pictured as having recently worn match items worn by the robber in a released still from the store security video.
Social media posts show the deceased driver and the adult female passenger had a past history of getting high while in the car with the kid. They also show the deceased had a social media trail that make you wonder if he was just a tourist in gang circles or something more.
In the current climate, without a plate match or positive prior ID, how eager do you think the cops, or the administrators who make the rules for the cops, are to do a felony stop, on what could well be an innocent couple with a small child, based on “this guy looks like the robber” alone, knowing it would be filmed by every passer by with a phone?
Based on the radio traffic, the officers thought they had a possible match and decided to go with a less provocative approach...talk to the people and see what they say, how they act and if they can provide proper ID.
What went down after that is the crux of the matter. I’d say it’s reasonable to believe that the officers were not met with smiling co-operation. While it’s possible they outright murdered the guy on a whim, or the deceased had his gun out and tried to bring it to bear, my money is on something more in the middle, and there will be legal justification for the shoot.
As for the passenger, her story since has been inconsistent at best, and my money is on there being more parts to that video she live streamed then what we’ve seen.
I’m also pretty certain that the Feds are leaning on the local government and police to not release, at this point, any information that may “inflame” the diverse community, and that “timing is everything”.
I’d say the chances that we are now looking at a negative image of the true story are pretty damn good.
No. Not to a Democrat it’s not. - An adult pays his
obligations. Punk wannabes don’t.
She said a "Chinese" cop shot the late Mr. Castile.
Toxicology reports will explain a lot, to a jury. It's ridiculous that white people are being drawn into internecine Leftist racial politics.
A white cop didn't shoot the black guy, it was a Hispanic guy. Why are white people automatically to blame if this was a 'bad shoot' and being coerced into pretending to care about this guy, or else?
One of few facts we know to be true so far is that the cop who did the shooting isn't a white guy, therefore Leftist racial squabbles and their casualties don't matter.
