Boris Titov, Russia’s business ombudsman, wrote on Facebook in the aftermath of the Brexit vote that the UK exiting Europe could herald a major shift of power in the Eurasian landmass in the coming years.

“UK out!!! In my opinion, the most important long-term consequence of all this is that the exit will take Europe away from the Anglo-Saxons, that is, from the US,” he wrote. “This is not the independence of Britain from Europe, but the independence of Europe from the USA.”

well, the fact is that Putin gains from the UK leaving the EU. Should that have been a deciding factor for the British voters? No. But it is a fact.

your “fact” is neither proven nor is it undisputedly true. as such, it simply isn’t a “fact” at all. “opinion” or “hypothesis” would be accurate terms.

Thank God Putin has his defenders here. He’s just a simple man, and misunderstood.

Who cares? As long as we leave Russia alone, they shouldn’t be of any concern to us.

I'm confused...wouldn't Europe being subjugated by the
former Soviet Union be a wet dream come true for the
Commies at The Guardian?

Obviously the Kremlin is pleased to see the UK leave the EU and therefore lose its pro-USA influence over EU sanctions policy-making etc. That is one of many outcomes called for in The Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia by Aleksandr Dugin. (Putin's most respected geopolitical strategist). That book was actually used as a textbook in Russia's General Staff Academy. (The book was also co-authored by General Nikolai Klokotov of the General Staff Academy.)

Here is a brief synopsis, courtesy of Wikipedia:

The book states that "the maximum task [of the future] is the 'Finlandization' of all of Europe".[1]

In Europe:

- Germany should be offered the de facto political dominance over most Protestant and Catholic states located within Central and Eastern Europe. Kaliningrad oblast could be given back to Germany. The book uses the term a "Moscow-Berlin axis".[1]

- France should be encouraged to form a "Franco-German bloc" with Germany. Both countries have a "firm anti-Atlanticist tradition".[1]

- United Kingdom should be cut off from Europe.[1]

-Finland should be absorbed into Russia. Southern Finland will be combined with the Republic of Karelia and northern Finland will be "donated to Murmansk Oblast".[1]

-Estonia should be given to Germany's sphere of influence.[1]

-Latvia and Lithuania should be given a "special status" in the Eurasian-Russian sphere.[1]

-Poland should be granted a "special status" in the Eurasian sphere.[1]

-Romania, Macedonia, "Serbian Bosnia" and Greece – "orthodox collectivist East" – will unite with the "Moscow the Third Rome" and reject the "rational-individualistic West".[1]

-Ukraine should be annexed by Russia because "“Ukraine as a state has no geopolitical meaning, no particular cultural import or universal significance, no geographic uniqueness, no ethnic exclusiveness, its certain territorial ambitions represents an enormous danger for all of Eurasia and, without resolving the Ukrainian problem, it is in general senseless to speak about continental politics". Ukraine should not be allowed to remain independent, unless it is cordon sanitaire, which would be inadmissible.[1] ...

In the United States:

- Russia should use its special forces within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism. For instance, provoke "Afro-American racists". Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics."[1]

And yet it’s a Hungarian Jew by the name of George Soros that’s doing most of the damage to this nation and Europe. I’d prefer Russian Christian rule of Europe over Muslim domination.

Really? I much prefer American hegemony to its blood-stained Russian counterpart.

Southern and central European countries are Catholic and Orthodox Christian. The idea that Islam is going to dominate these countries if Russia does not take them over is silly. You should be far more concerned about how the people of those nations will suffer under Russian domination. (I know from first-hand experience that they are very concerned about Russian aggression.)

You really think that Vladimir Putin is a good Christian?

That image is a respectable façade to get people like you and a large chunk of the Russian population on his side. His actions don't seem very Christian.

Was Constantine a good Christan or mearly a man who used Christanity to gain power? What matters is results and Putin is rebuilding the only fully state backed Christan nation in Eroupe. God uses bad and good rulers alike.
