Israel passes law targeting human rights organizations

Israel’s parliament passed a controversial law Monday that increases the regulation of many Israeli human rights organizations.

The law approved by a vote of 57 to 48 targets groups that receive more than half their funding from foreign governments or political organizations. In practice, the law will affect liberal groups almost exclusively because hawkish groups in Israel largely rely on donations from wealthy individuals, which are exempt.

The law requires organizations to state that they rely on foreign funding in all communication with public officials and on TV, newspapers, billboards and online. Representatives of these groups must also declare they depend on foreign contributions to the heads of parliamentary committees when participating in meetings. Failure to comply will result in fines. …

just maybe those EU nazis are trying to build themselves safe havens in a safe country (those dammmm joooos will never think to do anything bad to the euroNazis, would they? after all, half of the jooos are Capos at heart, eh?)

just in case their slaves or conquered nations in europe decide to really throw them off their backs?

just a wild thought. it could be, though....
could be...at least in part....

Ha ha. Advocate for that and you’ll get a tornado of abuse by those who think that money = speech.

I can guaranty you that nobody will yell about the inquisition. Israelis welcome true friends. They are skeptical of people who come from the left-wing religions (PCUSA, etc.) with a political rather than religious agenda. We just had a Catholic visitor and she loved visiting sites like the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Stations of the Cross in Jerusalem, and Magdala, an archeological site believed to be the hometown of Mary Magdalene — and its synagogue, where it is believed that Jesus preached. Come see the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River. You will feel very welcome here.

Russian law goes further by banning foreign funding of Russia-based NGOs.

Israel merely forces Israel-based NGOs to disclose their foreign funding, which is a step in the right direction.
