You are correct. I’m a retired LEO and was in uniform patrol my entire career. I always either brought my food, didn’t eat or ate at places like Subway, where even in the guy hated my guts, he wore gloves and the food was already out in front of me and couldn’t be tampered with. I also preferred cafeteria style places and buffets, again because the food couldn’t be messed with. It was already out in front of you. Or I just bought processed junk food as it was sealed. It is a paranoid way to live but that is just how it was. I’m glad I don’t have to do that anymore.
I have a great fast Asian food place nearby. The Twice Cooked Pork is awesome!

I always say that I’m not a racist, but I am a culturist. Some cultures warrant our disdain.
What has our country come to? People not respecting the police. People daring to hurt the police in small and big ways. How sad it is. And this lack of decency, this hateful cruelty, comes from the top down.

I worked in a restaurant in a major East Coast city. The Chief of Police came in for lunch and we wanted to comp his meal and he refused it saying it would set a bad precedent. He appreciated the offer so we comped half of it which I guess was department policy.
So would my wife - I like spicy but she eats stuff that gives me reflexive hiccups....
think it is the same here too, and the place is clean with hard working clean people who wish you a blessed day all the time.
When I was young and worked at a Starbucks I always would give cops free drip coffee. It really costs nothing.
They’d insist on paying. I would take their money and give most back so customers would see them paying. Soon I just took the money and put it in the tip jar while saying coffee’s free, and after a while they were fully trained and they no longer tried to pay.
Apparently they had to ask the chief if I could give them coffee, and he said yes as long as I distributed it equally.
Oh well, at least I have the recipe for the Zaxby’s sauce (minus urine, of course):
Zaxby’s Chicken Fingers Dipping Sauce
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Hellman’s or Duke’s regular mayonnaise
1/4 cup Hunt’s tomato ketchup
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 to 1 teaspoon black pepper (to taste)
DIRECTIONS
Mix together the mayo, ketchup, and garlic powder, blending well. Add Worcestershire sauce and blend well. Cover the surface of sauce with lots of black pepper until just coated, stir until blended well. Refrigerate for at least two hours prior to use to allow the flavors to mingle.
Hope that place doesn’t get burglarized. Gonna be a long response time.
We have a friend that has a Mexican restaurant in a small town outside of the city. He is very firefighter and cop friendly. He can’t give them free food but always discounts their tickets. His restaurant is always full of firefighters and police, on and off duty.
In a town that is 99% Mexican and full of crime he has none.

You don't just have to be "white" to be concerned. I'm of mixed descent and have run into people who were incensed about how many nationalities are represented in my family and I. And not just blacks -who hate that I am not black, just because. If you ain't black, you ain't sh*t -is the common phrase I hear, among others. Usually from older generations, but quite a few younger ones sometimes appear. Usually in groups.
