Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry might have given Donald Trump a full-throated endorsement for president, but he is not so fond of the presumptive Republican nominee's plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border.
In an exchange posted Monday with Snapchat’s Peter Hamby on the social network's political show, "Good Luck America," Perry shot down Trump's proposal.
"I’m for Donald Trump, and he says we’re going to build a wall, the Mexicans are gonna pay for it," he said. Hamby then injected, "It’s not going to happen."

” A physical wall works just fine from El Paso overland to the Pacific. But you ust don’t build a physical wall along a river — especially if it’s the only water source in a semi-arid region. Ranchers and livestock and wildlife on both sides of the river need unhindered access to the water.
That’s not to say that a secure barrier can’t nonetheless be erected. The Israelis have a similar problem when the Jordan River is the only thing separating them from Jordan. Thus, the Rio Grande border can be effectively secured without a wall...if Trump wants to do it.”
All you Trumpers don’t look now, but the hated Ted Cruz spelled out very similar technologies and modalities out during the campaign, when explaining his border policy.

I care only the “wall is built”. I will gladly contribute my tax funds and even more of my savings to build the damned thing! Enough is enough!

Tell us how you would build a wall in the middle of the 1200 mile Rio Grande river that is the Texas border with Mexico?
I have said all along....we don’t need a wall. What we need is someone with the huevos to force the enforcement of current laws. We already have laws in place to stop all this crap. They’re not enforced and the law enforcers are actually facilitating the illegals. If all that stopped the illegals here would go home or be deported eventually as they came into contact with government officials and the rest would stop coming.
Does it have to be a wall? In certain border areas a wall would be best. But in others, what about motion detectors etc.? A virtual wall of employer fines, cancelling freebies etc. Land mines and then just guard the roads?
The important thing is a strong, consistent commitment to some/all of these. “Wall” is just shorthand to me.
No flaming. Just hoping to hear from those who have some workable ideas for this problem.
