I guess you need to learn some history. Newly minted "Republican" and committed golfer Eisenhower was a terrible choice for President. Robert Taft was far superior. Had Ike not leant the weight of his Presidency -- and newly acquired "Republican" status to discredit McCarthy, our history might have been very different, indeed.

The first Republican CiC picked a border-state Democrat as his running mate. That also was an unmitigated disaster: he was murdered by a Democrat, and his "unity" running mate succeeded in nothing except unifying the party on the right side of history -- and the country -- against his stand-in presidency.

Try to at least keep up with, um, your own posts. Clearly, you don't have the knowledge of history to keep up with mine.
