BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOX) A Ballwin police officer is fighting for his life, according to the chief of police, after he was shot during a traffic stop Friday morning.
Ballwin Police Chief Kevin Scott, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar and St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger addressed the media during a news conference at Ballwin police headquarters on Friday afternoon.
Scott says the incident began with a traffic stop in the 300 block of New Ballwin Road when the officer pulled over a vehicle. The officer then got out of his patrol car, approached the vehicle and had a conversation with the driver. Scott says as the officer was walking back to his patrol car, with his back turned, the driver got out of his vehicle, and fired three shots, hitting the officer at least once.
Belmar said, We believe the Ballwin officer was ambushed. Period.
According to Scott, the suspect then ran from the scene, fleeing northbound on New Ballwin Road.

Prayers for the officer.
Earlier reports had the cop dead. Hope he pulls through.
This is from Drudge. No news on him as of yet. I’ll let you know.

The regime and media’s war on cops is having consequences.
Prayers for officer Ballwin’s full recovery.
The race war that has been fomented for 7+ years is finally coming to fruition. Soros, et al, must be so happy.
Traffic stops are so benign. Right? NOT!
Obama has blood on his hands. No other way of saying it.
It shows the shooter wasn’t very smart. Every cop calls in the make and model of the car and the license plate number. Once you’re pulled over it’s on record whose car you’re in.
Maybe the real question is whether there needs to be an equivalent war on Democrat politicians. Perhaps they might take things more seriously then.
Yes he does!
Ballwin is a better than average area with home in the 150K and up range.
