Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Thursday that a bill targeting sanctuary cities that refuse to enforce immigration laws would undermine the ability of local law enforcement to police their own communities to ensure public safety.
Senator Toomeys bill will undermine the ability of local law enforcement to police their own communities to ensure public safety. It would deny millions of dollars of critical community and economic development funding to cities and states that refuse to target immigrant families, Reid said in a speech on the Senate floor.
Sen. Pat Toomeys (R-Pa.) bill, the Stop Dangerous Sanctuary Cities Act, would ensure that State and local law enforcement may cooperate with Federal officials to protect our communities from violent criminals and suspected terrorists who are illegally present in the United States. Cities that set up sanctuaries for illegals would be ineligible for certain federal funds.

Harry Reid is such a pathetic POS. I am looking forward to the day he exits this planet, and enters into his eternal damnation.
Sorry, but those local governments are undermining the sovereignty of the entire nation. Quid pro quo.
Illegals are the cops’ “own communities”?
Hey Dingy! Since when have you Democrats ever been concerned about “undermining” local law enforcement? Hypocrite!!! Retire already you old worthless jerk.
When you’re looking to promote the globalist agenda, any excuse will do...
Unlike the ‘sanctuary cities’ themselves, who undermine the rule of law.

Indeed. Mr. Reid has a long, warm (very warm) eternal fate awaiting him.
Does the same logic apply if we replace the words “Sanctuary Cities” with (so called) “Assault Weapons?”
STFU, Harry
It doesn’t have to make sense anymore.
Six more months until Reid’s bony ass goes back to NV for good.
So continuing federal funding to cities harboring criminals somehow enhances local law enforcement capabilities? On the one hand give them money to continue harboring criminals. With the other, give them money to their law enforcement agencies to fight those specific criminals? Well, if you don’t fund the harboring of criminals, the cost of fighting those criminals might actually go down.
Which they aren't doing anyway, as they allow scores of illegal aliens in their cities to commit violent crimes, drive drunk often with tragic results, and suck off the welfare system while American citizens go hungry.
Harry Reid is a dried up dog turd.
Another memo from Room 101. War is peace.
Yeah, we see how well things are working out in Dallas and other places.
Liar, liar. Pants on fire.
acriminalsayswhat?
Harry Reid wisdom: We will help law enforcement by not enforcing the law.
