Reporter on Fox said they saw a military truck with what appears to be troops exit it earlier. I thought I was hearing things.
The National Guard might help the police by bringing in a platoon or company of MP’s. Secure the scene. Check ID’s of building occupants that might need to get into their living quarters, say to retrieve pets or the like.
DPD has several Lenco Bearcats and one MRAP, the latter doesn’t ever get deployed because DPD knows that the MRAP costs stupid amounts of money to run and breaks down a lot. Dallas SD has at least one and I think two MRAPs and nothing smaller for armored vehicles. DSD hasn’t figured out why the MRAPs they got for free aren’t a great deal, at least not yet.
