” most auto repair places”
The last one I got there I had to spit it out ...
The price of runny steer crap went up?
Most of the places I mention now how Keurig’s
Probably will be. If it is a frappe, by definition it is going to be mostly ice. Nuisance suit. And I am no defender of Starbucks.
Starbucks if a victim of their own success. They got so big they cannot offer consistent top quality beans. So they go for lesser quality, but ample supplies, of good beans instead of the very narrow volume of the best beans. The over roasting is partly to cover the quality drop, but is also an earmark of Northwest coffee roasting. I’m not a fan, but that is just a matter of tastes.
Local or independent roasters will offer higher quality as a rule. I love this guy’s roasts:

There are others, perhaps near you. The least time shipping is best.
I’m with you on all of it but if I’m on the road I really really like the cappuccinos that come out of a machine at all gas stations. I think they’re $1.79 for a really big one.
Forgot to say......and yeah, if I don’t want to get out of the car McDonalds has great coffee
I agree
Proud to say I’ve never set foot in a Starbucks. Don’t ever intend to. I’m happy with Folgers made at home and so is my wallet.
They’d save money if they put 1/2 as much coffee in their wretched, over-the-top brew.
What brand of espresso machine did you buy? Ditto, other items. I have been wanting to get out of the Starbucks habit for a while; but, can’t find the machine that would work for me. So, if you could give me info about yours, I’d appreciate it.
Yes. I remember telling a "barista" that I thought the drink price hikes were his way of having his customers pay for other people's college expenses. She disagreed; but, I really think that is a reasonable assumption.
I own a Breville. It grinds the beans, has a milk frother, and two programmable buttons to make just the amount of coffee you want. I have had it for 8 years. Had one before it that died after 2 years. Williams Sonoma replaced it under a “lifetime guarantee” that they don’t offer any more. It cost more than I am willing to admit I paid, but it makes WONDERFUL espresso.
What I have and some current approx prices.
Rancilio Sylvia $685
Rancilio Rocky $355
Breville Milk Café Frother $129
Looks like about $1200 today, once you buy a few accessories. At minimum, you’ll want a good tamper and some Cafiza cleaner.
30cent increase on a 3dollar item isn’t exactly a ‘small increase’. it’s 10%.
but they won’t get it from me. I’m a Folger’s Crystals gal.
Too bad, but it won’t affect me at all. I never go to Starbucks never will. I wouldn’t drink that swill if they gave it away.
Are you really referring to Starbucks as the Cadillac of coffee? And you call us stupid?
Many years ago friend told my about the Starbucks Double Chocolate-Chip Frappuccino, his favorite. Never having been in a Starbucks, I rationalized the high price by looking at it as a milkshake. It was very tasty on a hot summer day.
Once or twice a year, my wife has a taste for her favorite frappuchino, so I get my drink. It now SUCKS. Some years ago, the word “Chocolate” was replaced with “Chocolaty.” The SOBs can’t even give you real chocolate. More ice, less “chocolaty” chips.
The old drink was hard to suck up the big straw. The chips clogged it. Now they’re hard to see. Watered down chocolate milk with a bit of essence of burnt coffee. Blah! No more.
Very good coffee at Starbucks.
