What makes this whole sordid set of facts so damning is that before yesterday, Comey was considered one of the nations most trusted and apolitical beat cops. He was, after all, appointed US attorney for the Southern District by a Republican president, George W. Bush, and FBI chief by a Democrat, Obama.
Indeed, when Lynch all but turned the case over to him last week, many (including me) believed the rule of law would actually prevail, particularly since FBI staffers made no secret in law enforcement circles that they believed Clintons conduct merited some legal rebuke.
But Tuesday, Comey was anything but apolitical. Yes, he said, he found lots of classified stuff passing through Clintons personal email server that shouldnt have been. He said there is evidence that [Clinton and her team] were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information and that there is evidence of potential violations of the statute regarding the handling of classified information.
Yes, there are laws that make sure government officials use government email accounts that are more secure and easier to monitor for possible abuse than those kept on private servers monitored by no one, except possibly someone at the Clinton Foundation.
And yet Comey said there was no case to be made because Hillary didnt show enough intent to violate the laws. This is coming from a guy who as Manhattan US attorney once indicted a Wall Street banker for a 22-word email that couldve been construed three different ways. (The case was later successfully appealed and, after a deferred-prosecution agreement, put to rest.)
In the meantime, the real loser is the rule of law and, of course, the American people, who have to live in a country that might soon be renamed The Banana Republic of America.

Charles is no Trump fan..but a good article
You ever hear of “Fort Marcy Park?”
No doubt the Clintons are making good use of all the files they collected about people. Perhaps Comey has skeletons in his closet.
Charlie unleashed, surprising the Post let him loose.

Got my point across? Lol. Sorry thought my Cellphone had locked up, and hit post obviously more than once. Maybe a temporary fart on the FR servers.
Another anti-Trump a**hole! Who ya gonna vote for, Charlie?!
Why is the FBI being corrupt baffling to anybody?
[ He was, after all, appointed US attorney for the Southern District by a Republican president, George W. Bush, and FBI chief by a Democrat, Obama. ]
Well, actually it’s not that hard to figure out.....Besides, the Bushes won’t be attending the convention for Trump and Obama is using the Office of President to campaign to Hillary.
It’s not complicated.......
Comey has as much integrity as an OJ Juror.
Didn’t he also claim that there was no precedent. My first reaction, didn’t this create just that? At least now we can all transmit sensitive data over our gmail accounts, use the hillary excuse and skate free. After-all, she just set precedent...
I have lived in banana republics, dictatorships, and royal monarchy dictatorships. The rule of law was the whim of the dictator or king. However, they did not pretend to be a democracy. Today in the United States I can see no difference. Our Constitution has been shredded. Our laws are enforced selectively to punish enemies of the state. When there is no law to prosecute the enemies of the state they make up bogus charges.
Our Constitutional Republic is on the verge of tyranny under the guise of democracy.

Some day, some way, some place, the Clinton’s will face a reckoning. They have corrupted countless numbers of people, Lynch and Comey being the most recent, but there will be an instance when someone will see to it that justice is done. I hope that reckoning comes in a legal manner, but I will be satisfied however it happens.
“Our Constitutional Republic is on the verge of tyranny under the guise of democracy.”
On the verge?
