The gun control fight picked back up in the House of Representatives on Tuesday after Democrats staged a dramatic sit-in demanding action on the issue that lasted more than 24 hours on the chamber floor late last month following the mass shooting in Orlando, Fla.
Speaker Paul Ryan said last week that the House will vote on a larger anti-terrorism package that includes legislation aimed at preventing suspected terrorists from getting their hands on firearms. But the proposal is unlikely to satisfy Democrats who want stricter measures, like expanded background checks, to be put into place.
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has called the proposal Paul will bring to floor -- which is based on previous legislation written by Sen. John Cornyn of Texas -- "toothless." It's likely to go nowhere as a similar measure has already been knocked down in the Senate. Under the proposed GOP legislation, the government can ban gun sales to suspected terrorists but only if they can prove within 72 hours that the person on the watch or no-fly list has links to terrorism -- a provision Democrats say is impossible.

The Congressional Black Toadies.
Tar. Feathers. Fencerail.
Some assembly required.
Thank you Paul Boehner-Ryan, you belly crawling worm.
The Democrats have demonstrated that they won’t be held to the law of the land.
This is going to lead to many forms of anarchy.
They will use privileged minorities to be in the vanguard of these efforts, as they have used Obama and Hillary so successfully.
If Trump is clever enough to deal with this he will probably win. I think he is very smart, but I’m not all sure he’s smart enough.
KKKongressional BlacKKK KKKauKKKus.
The Cholesterol Black Caucus.
Kabuki....Gope has already caved. They did it decades ago.
+1000!
Ryan: Here's 10.
Rats: No, we want 1,000.
Ryan: Here's 5,000
Rats: Unacceptable, we want 1,000,000.
Ryan: Sniff, boo-hoo, choke.
Being that D.C. is such a high crime city, I sure hope none of those gun-hating Congress critters end up being victims of violent crime while coming or going to their liddle sit-in demonstrations, it might happen even without guns, thugs wander around with 2-by-4’s, baseball bats (wooden or aluminum), those objects could cause a LOT o’ damage!
Let’s hope nothing bad happens to them.
Are they waiting on a bus to take them to Chi-Raq to tell them to knock off all that shooting or else they’ll go back to Congress and do another sit-in; meanwhile at Cabela’s ....
I’m sorry, I want due process before someone is put on the list, not after the fact as we decide whether to take him off.
And I want that with respect to flying or firearms, or anything else.
If the government is to restrict the freedom of anybody, with respect to anything, there should be a judicial finding that authorizes it.
“Sergeant of Arms. Arrest them. “
What Ryan SHOULD say.
Like I would obey ANYTHING these bastards passed, after they demonstrated that the Rule of Law is dead. LOL!
“the government can ban gun sales to suspected terrorists but only if they can prove within 72 hours that the person on the watch or no-fly list has links to terrorism — a provision Democrats say is impossible”
Perhaps the Democrats should offer up a gun buyer/Democratic Representive block.
Basically, Obama’s AG would be able to block N gun buyers from buying guns for a month if N Democrats in the House of Representatives give up their right to vote for a month.
Hey Nancy (Pelosi), AG Loretta Lynch here, we want to block Brian Griffin from buying a gun until August 5th, can you find a Democrat in the House willing to forfeit his/her House voting rights for a month in exchange?
Another possibility, cap the Obamacare penalty at $695, and let the AG and President block a person until the new President takes office for $1 off the cap per person blocked.
Right, but the demoRATS don’t want due process, they want judicial tyranny.
50 years ago, John Lewis got the crap beaten out of him by a bunch of Democrats. Since then, he’s been suffering Stockholm Syndrome.
