You seriously think no one investigating Benghazi nor anyone advising those people thought of this angle?
I don't know what the explanation is but I can't believe the Republicans had testimony to this effect and didn't at least leak it if not include it in any of the reports.

Good point that the military was probably already getting ready because of the events in Cairo earlier.
We had been bombing Libya, but now they needed Cross Border Authority?
And Benghazi was really not under the control of the government of Libya.
So why didn’t they send in the military?
The reason Hillary, Susan Rice and Obama lied about Benghazi is because Romney got an intelligence update on it. And he went public about it before Obama knew what hit him. And the first thing the white house came up with was the lie about the Film.
If it wasn’t weeks before the election and days before the debates, they would have thought better of it. But they got scared and were caught off guard by Romney. So, they said Romney had no idea what he was talking about and that it was just a bad film.
Romney being an idiot just backed down. He did not mind taking the pot shot. But he had no stomach for following through.

Obama is responsible. He deliberately didn’t give the CBA.
This site is filled with people with no military experience and no SOF experience.
You have to explain it in a way that people without your experience can understand why your point is important.
Writing like that can be a real pain in the donkey. Your experience gives you the ability to see things intuitively. You can jump ahead in the discussion because of your experience. Most of the people here don’t have your experience. Most of the politicians and reporters and investigators don’t have your experience. They need everything explained to them.
You have just the right experiences and just the right skills to properly explain why Benghazi, and Libya in general, was such a mess.

I do not disagree with your expertise. My opinion is that Benghazi by the ‘sea’ was this administrations weapons depot to arm its rebel army... They would rather let their weapons get hijacked than light up Benghazi, for the world to see their weapons trafficking. Who knows, the ‘hijacking’ just might have been part of their plan. It is not ‘natural’ for this administration to have left their wares so unprotected...

The Obama administration was caught in probably the worst scandal in U.S. history when Fast & Furious was uncovered.
After the media effectively protected them, I knew it would be very difficult for Obama to be held responsible for anything.

The 'media' was NOT alone in giving cover-up to this administration... The Republicans have been a miserable excuse for upholding their Constitutional oath. Why Republicans in my opinion by and large are complicit in the lawlessness of this administration... Most especially those that claim they are 'principled '. Come to find out they are only out for their principal bottom dollar off the backs of US taxpayers.
They’re not pursuing it because the president does have sole legal authority to grant or withhold CBA and if he decides to withhold it and abandon Americans on the ground he can legally do so. Since there’s nothing they can do about it, they decided not to press the point. Furthermore, they don’t care because they figure he’s gone in January anyway and are scared to death to pick on anyone will cry racism.
So they focus on Hillary alone and the dumb video because she’s a future president and she’s white. But it’s looking like the video idea was a WH idea not a Hillary idea...
But the MSM is uninterested...as is the Republican Party.
