May this great man rest in peace, may his family be comforted by his great accomplishments, and may people learn from him how to treat their fellow man.
His political views were not mine, not by a long shot, but those differ from his deeds.

A true scholar and courageous man who survived the horror of the Holocaust. May his words live on and others learn from his writings. RIP.

I read that as part of a “Philosophy of Evil” course I took in college. Needed to squeeze a few credits in between semesters. In the three-week course we had to read a book every two or three days. That one stuck out in my mind all these years. Another one was “Kristus och Judas” about the necessity of Judas’ role in leading to Christ’s redemption. Somewhat similar argument as in Boethius’ Consolation of Philosophy.

Requiescet in pacem. Mr. Wiesel and I met at a school event in Berkeley in 1995. He was very humble, cheerful and talkative. He seemed interested in the work of the students.

Irony never ceases to amaze me. Put into a concentration camp by the Left the man one day becomes a Leftist.

Book ‘Night’ is fiction.
Schindler’s List is fiction.
Annie Frank diary was allegedly penned by a relative.
Out of respect for the Jews who died horrifically, my preference still is the true accounts.

There’s two versions... I’m reading the translation by his wife - it’s closer to the original.
