For them, there is no irony. They see solar as the thing that will save the planet, just as people who proclaim independence from the grid have no problem with reconnecting at night because they don’t understand how power plants work.

Tell me how that works when the solar panels are *covered* in several feet of snow and no light is getting to the panels.
