Hours after the Supreme Court sent his immigration policy into legal limbo, President Barack Obama huddled around a long conference table in the Roosevelt Room with disappointed activists. The president looked out at familiar faces, some teary. It had been a long and tough fight, Obama said, and he had taken some beatings even from supporters who whupped on me good.
He believed his policies would prevail, according to participants in the meeting, but said it was now up to voters and the next president to take up the baton.
And with that, Obama delivered his version of a concession speech on a fight that has frustrated him like few others, roiled the campaign to replace him and is certain to test his successor.
When Obama leaves office in January, immigration overhaul will stand as the most glaring failure in his 7½-year effort to enact a vision of social change. Despite two campaigns full of promises and multiple strategies, Obama imposed only incremental, largely temporary changes on the immigration system. He leaves behind an outdated and overwhelmed system, with some 11 million people living in the U.S. illegally.

Barky’s Legacy:
Absolute FAILURE on all counts...
Jimmy Carter was FAR better as a POTUS than Barky the pResident...
The objective was to flood the country with new Democrats. If Obama has failed, America wins.
soetoro hasn’t failed, he gots 40 million more scumbags than 2007 had.
‘11 million people living in the U.S. illegally’
This has been the stated number of illegals for the past decade. It HAS to be twice this number or more. More lies by lying lairs.
“........7½-year effort to enact a vision of social change.”
Social change my butt. The goal of the Obamacrat Party was the pursuit of so many new Democrat voters no Republican would ever be elected ever again.
If the voters had wanted amnesty, he would have had no trouble getting his policies passed. When the voters want "immigration reform", what they want is better enforcement of the laws and more effective laws. The self-serving politicians then introduce amnesty and call it "immigration reform" and think that we voters are too stupid to tell the difference.
“I hope he fails” - Rush Limbaugh
They didn't send it into "legal limbo", they let stand a lower court ruling, which means it was completely rejected.
Sadly though, 4 Supreme Court Justices voted to completely ignore the Constitution.
“4 more years” in Arabic means Allah Akbar for this guy.
Re: Barry
Excellent point. My new estimate is 20,000,00.
PARIS... Odungo,it’s all yours Sparky
NJ alone has 11 million illegals; that number is surely outdated.
So I guess ObamaCare and the economy were successes...
If only he had failed in what he intended.
Obama hasn’t failed to flood the country with fraudulently documented foreigners. He only failed to legalize them all.
He has still illegally legalized some 700,000 of them.
And he still has 200 days.
It would be good if we all could adopt the original definition for the word, “Immigrant.”
An immigrant is a foreign national living in this country legally. This would mean they have Green Cards or one of the Visas which allow staying and working. There is a law on the books which allow a certain number of applicants to enter the US from each continent following a screening process of about 18 months. They are issued Green Cards and have every benefit of citizenship except voting.
The illegal alien is not an immigrant. The left has been using the word just as they have appropriated the words, “gay” and the rainbow for the homosexual community.
I really don’t want to give any of those words to them.
It was 11 million when Bush took office, between him and Barky ignoring the borders and laws it must be at least 30 million by now.
