Two Mooslim suck-up buffoons. Well, actually, Krispy could suck-up Norquist with one suck, I believe.

[In short, although it still hits residents, this helps collect tax for New Jersey from people who do not currently directly pay it. It is definitely a net benefit for income-producing residents. ]

You’re not looking BEYOND just paying more at the pump. This tax will raise the cost of FOOD and other products and services that rely on gas-powered transportation!!

Food prices are already outrageously and unnecessarily high!

Of course they will. Once politicians have a tax in place, it only ever goes up.

Of course the following is bull crap but- a consumption/sales tax is preferable to a slave labor tax on income. A specific consumption tax is more preferable to a tax on all consumption everywhere. Other than that CC and GN are loons for feeding the leviathan no matter the logic.

“He said the sales tax cut from 7 percent to 6 percent phased in over 2017 and 2018 will cost about $1.3 billion, while the gas tax hike is estimated to bring in roughly the same amount. The result will be a net neutral tax on residents, he said.”

The gas tax will be easier to raise going forward.

I understand; no worries.

It disgusts me that as gasoline prices were falling recently our Democrats here in NJ basically asked, “Why pass this savings on to consumers? We can add taxes now and they wouldn’t notice it much...” (due to market conditions).

The idea of us little people having a little extra in our bank accounts bothers them greatly; they have decided what our standard of living should be, and having a little extra discretionary income instead of forking it over to them is messed up (to put it nicely).

Even worse, the income and property taxes raised are in part funding a group that is increasingly distinct and separate from those paying those taxes. NJ is seeing a battle now between often childless “makers” squaring off against breeding “takers” about school funding (about 75% of our sky-high property taxes); this battle is increasingly drawn along racial lines as well as class, and the working taxpayers are fleeing rather than just accept slaving away for others’ kids...

“Christie gave us Trump.....”

The fatass did destroy Lil Marco, but I would not go as far to say that he “gave us” Trump.

How does the New Jersey Democrats veto a bill? I thought Gov. Christie is the only one with the power to veto.

They (Republicans) raised the gas tax 28 cents a gallon over a five year period back at the end of 2013 here in Pennsylvania.

A big reason why Corbett is unemployed and Commie Wolf is now governor.
