It's a lovely little book, but as I stated, not only do I use most of the words and phrases and don't find any of then "odd" nor "out of date", I suppose that many others might. OTOH...I did learn some new words and phrases and what matters more, learned the derivations of things I already knew and used. :-)
I LOVE words and always have. Sadly, today, most people have a very small vocabulary.
Lowering of standards
Even years ago people stopped using words. — blame it on TV.
My son aced the senior graduation vocabulary test. He was in second grade. He wanted to know why he couldn’t just go on to college.
