Nine candidates are vying for Rep. Charles Rangel's seat — a position he's held for nearly a half-century — but only one stood beside him as he cast his vote in Harlem on Tuesday.

"For the first time in 46 years I couldn't find my name!" Rangel said as he stepped out of his polling site at Public School 175 on W. 134th St.

"But I'm so glad I did find his name," he added, nodding towards Assemblyman Keith Wright, whom Rangel endorsed as his successor.

New Yorkers in seven congressional districts in four boroughs — Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn — are voting in primaries to pick House nominees Tuesday. Polls close at 9 p.m.

I wonder how much Wright paid Rangel for the endorsement.

Charlie doesn't do anything for free.

I sure wish he’d find his name on a prison cell where he belongs.

True. It was a racially divided election.

46 yrs @ what ever it was back in the day but it is now what North of $170k and his pension will be all of if not darn near that? Not to mention what organizations or schemes he may have had a hand in have salted away.

Our Founders are doing lomchovach's in their graves at this ruling class.

Think about it, this man who is antithetical to all what our Founders stood for was their a lifetime, not a limit of 4, 6, or 12 years but a freakin' lifetime.... Egads...

Al Sharpton asks Rep. Charles Rangel, state Sen. Adriano Espaillat to curb race fighting over congressional seat

www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/rev-al-sharpton-harlem-pols-rangel-stop-fighting-article-1.1821603

“I think it is dangerous for the community if we end up dividing black and brown people rather than deal with the real issues in the district,” Sharpton told the Daily News Saturday. “If this ends up in a tribal war where people choose sides based on race rather than who can do the best job, I think we do a disservice to the community.”

“Rep. Charles Rangel’s seat”

Yep, “his seat” in the sense he owned it for 46 years, milking the system for all it was worth while his low information constituents suffered the most from his far left votes.

“Assemblyman Keith Wright”

No doubt another knucklehead just like Rangel who will feed off the moribund federal carcass for the next 46 years while the low information voters of this God-forsaken district keep sending him back to the Dist. of Corruption.

Whoever wins Rangel’s seat will want to get it disinfected.

Wright lost. He lost to the Latino candidate, Adriano Espaillat. It’s the fall of Rangel.
