Levin wants Hillary to win. Plain and simple. Nothing else can explain his months long anti-Trump tantrum.

Unfortunately it looks that way. But since Levin has been consistently attempting to draw a specific parallel between Trump and Clinton on trade, especially today, it appears Levin will claim that American's desire for free trade (including trade with communist China) was the reason that Trump lost (should he lose),since free trade is apparently the only core issue they disagree on. Of course Levin will try to hide that, if and when the time comes, but posts like these will hopefully document where Levin stood during the election period.

I posted this back in May, repeating a thought I started in March:

Mark, I posted this to the Levin thread in March:

For me, it's not about aligning around my principles, it's about aligning around my goals. I can tolerate a less principled candidate as long as I think he's best positioned to achieve my goals. Of course, there is a minimum principles line I won't cross, but I don't think that Trump is anywhere near that line. But we have to win the election first for any of it to matter, and I don't think the "principled" Cruz has the general crossover appeal to win.

So what are my goals? Right now, they are simple: first, build the wall; second, screw Mitch McConnell. We can go from there.

So who's in the best position to do that?

I know you want ideological principles, but you also have to figure out how you're willing to weigh and trade off adherence to principles with alignment of goals.

Today, listening to the condescension dripping from Levin's tone of voice when speaking about Gingrich now, I was reminded of my earlier posts.

Levin is losing sight of his goals. If I could ask which is his goal, electing Clinton or electing Trump, I expect Levin to deflect and say his goal is to elect a true conservative to protect liberty.

I would then reply that his choices, like it or not, are between Clinton and Trump, and if he thinks there is some other choice then he's advocating for a convention fight to steal away the nomination from Trump to Cruz. It's either that, or get behind Trump if he doesn't want Clinton.

Reading between Levin's words, he's been coy about revealing what he plans to do regarding candidate support. This leads me to currently think that Levin supports a convention fight to disenfranchise Republican primary voters, if not actively be working with Cruz agents in advance of the convention to lay the groundwork messaging.

We'll know soon enough if Levin will turn on his listeners and work to undermine the primary results.

It does seem rather hypocritical that the guy who is pushing the Article V because the government no longer adheres to the ‘rules’ of The Constitution is the same guy who is advocating the Republicans change the rules — after the fact [of the primaries] — to derail a presumptive nominee who won more than the 1237 delegates in favor of some establishment type.

[Surely, Levin realizes that even if Trump is dumped, the replacement will NOT be Cruz.]

How many times has Levin accused Democrats of following only the rules/laws they choose? Yet, he is doing similar by wanting to change the convention rules.
