But it is the flow of people into the European Union that has had the greatest geopolitical impact, and helped to precipitate the British vote. Stabilizing Syria and permanently curbing the refugee flow could be one of the critical factors in determining whether Europe can steady itself politically.
Before the refugee crisis, the European Union was already an unwieldy and unfinished entity. Its contradictions and imperfections were exacerbated by the economic crisis. Yet it was the onset of more than a million refugees marching through Greece and the Balkans toward Germany that may ultimately prove to be the most destabilizing event in Europes recent history.
European countries erected border fences despite the blocs system of open internal borders. Populist parties raged against immigrants. Britain was relatively insulated, yet British politicians campaigning to leave the European Union depicted an island under siege, mixing the very different issue of immigration from other European Union states with the perceived threat from an influx of poor Muslims. This anti-immigrant strain twinned with the economic anxieties of many Britons who felt left out of the global economy to drive support for the country going its own way.
In the wake of Britains choice, Europe faces the parallel challenges of holding itself together and of retaining its global influence.

We have some serious business to take care of here in the USA. And, if we don't, the entire world will end up in chaos.
First, we must shore up the bastion of liberty, making it as comparatively strong as it was in 1946.
And, to do that we must trade on terms that are equal.
If any country restricts or tariffs our goods, we must implement countervailing tariff. And, if a company wants to ship a manufactured product into the US from anywhere there should be compensating tariff for US environmental, safety and labor laws.
Only then could trade be reasonably called fair.
The transfer of Capital Stock from the US to the rest of the world over the last 70 years has nearly broken our back. It is, by far, the largest transfer of wealth in recorded history.
I know an English guy in his late 20’s, very liberal, who thinks the sky is falling because he’ll be losing the passport privileges of a Euro member state. Basically, the ability to work in any Euro member state without a work visa. This fear largely stoked by the media. (This all...as if...you need to be ruled by an unelected EU parliament anyway to have such a priveledge.)
At the same time I know a older guy from Germany who travels the world supervising the construction of cement plants for a German firm. Discussing that above with him he says “...that’s all BS!” Work priveledges for foreigners among the European states have always been very liberal. In other words, the younger English guy doesn’t know what he’s taking about. This German guy fully supports Brexit, thinks the EU should be dissolved.

David,
Last night UK voters shocked the world.
Im sure you saw the news, David. Voters in the United Kingdom chose to leave the flawed and failing European Union and reassert control over their borders, politics and economy, taking a brave stand for freedom and independence. Its been dubbed Brexit in the media.
These voters stood up for their nation they put the United Kingdom first, and they took their country back.
With your help, were going to do the exact same thing on Election Day 2016 here in the United States of America.
I am fighting to upend the failed Big Government status quo in Washington, so that Americans can start believing in the future of our country again. And if elected President of the United States, I will strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain.
Will you stand with me at this critical time?
Yesterday UK voters exercised their right to self-determination for all the world to see. And today, our friends across the Atlantic are looking forward to a return to greater freedom and a better future for their children and grandchildren.
Voters here face the same choice on Election Day.
David, the political elites didnt see this coming. Wall Street and the media didnt have a clue. And they want to believe just as badly that we cannot win in November.
Lets send another shockwave around the world. Lets take back our country from the corrupt career politicians and put Americans first. Lets re-declare our independence.
Please stand with me today to reclaim freedom from the corrupt Washington establishment and Make America Great Again.
Thank you.
Best Wishes,
Donald J. Trump
Candidate for President of the United States

A typical NYT piece that surgically removes any blame for the jug-eared reprobate in the White House.
It is now the Left that calls for “stability,” the status quo, and has the backing of the Establishment in every sector.
Because the Left IS the establishment and they control everything.
